I had the vertical line down my stomach w/ baby #1 and I haven't had it w/ any of my other pregnancies, so for me it went away. As for the stretch marks, I find that mine are still very visible on my thighs, so I do not wear shorts, I opt for capris instead. I do not have as many on my tummy, and they are light and shiny now. I have sooo many stretch marks, I just try to make sure that they are all covered by my clothing. However, for alot of women, all of their stetch marks fade to be shiny lines that aren't that visible.

It will eventually go away. It can take several months. Mine is finally gone. I don't remember how long it took. My youngest is 15 months. So it definitely will be gone b4 a year. It just take a while for your hormones to get back to somewhat normal.

Ahhh...the pleasures of pregnancy!! All of the thngs you mentioned have something to do with your crazy pregnancy hormones. Most all of which went away after I gave birth to my children. I was left with a couple of stretch marks and what they call a "pregnancy mask" on my cheeks.

I can still see the verticle line on my stomach (line nigra) and its been 5 months now. My midwife told me that they believe the line appears to help babies when the come out of the womb find the breasts- as it acts like a guideline. Besides that- she said it could take upwards of a year to disapear. The stretch marks will also take several months to fade- but you can help the skin stretch by applying a daily moisturizing cream. I've been using a shea body butter by rocky mountain soap company. I also like the cocoa body butter by body shop

They are the result of pregnancy hormones. While you are pregnant, there is really nothing you can do (other than to some of the hair - shaving or waxing). After you give birth your body starts to return to normal, you no longer have the pregnancy hormones taking over, and many of these issues will correct themselves. Keep your skin supple to do your part in helping the stretch mark situation (Palmers cocoa butter is good, shea butter is also good). Good luck mama!

After I had my second child my stretch marks were terrible. After time they lightened. They dont have color anymore only white. Everything will go away in time after you give birth.

I have dark hair growing around my belly button, but that's it (so far). I am hoping it will fall out or something after birth! The dark line is 'linea negra' which a lot of women get when the are pregnant, and it goes away after birth.

the vertical line on your tummy is a linea negra and it will go away after delivery, it is very common. The red strtch marks are also common and although will never go away completely they will fade to a silvery grey. The dark areas should also fade after birth. Although the length of time for these to settle differs from person to person, it's all to do with your hormones. I experienced the increase in hair growth in places i didn't want it, like my chin, and i'm sorry to say at 6 months post delivery it is still here. the hair on my head has gone back to pre-pregnancy condition now though. Hope this helps.

I know a lot of woman who exfoliate the darker skin patches but I'm not sure how well that works. coco butter helps reduce stretchmarks... but I'm not 100% because I didn't get any with my first two and so far nothing with my third. I hear theres Bio-Oil which you can use later to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks. As for the hair, it sometimes increases and appears in places it wasn't before but I found after pregnancy it went back to normal!
