LilMrsK - 209 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with you. I do answer as many questions as I can but never with BS answers....I do try and give an informative answer.

baby.bray - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I know that you are not attacking the people who genuinely answer the questions like the lovelies below x :-) - even we've talked about this and the penny started falling when a member got the highest ranking for a question I posted - which was short and uninformative?

MelissaJoanne - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) As you know (Heaven), I had actually already talked to the site administrators before you posted this, about some shady things I'd noticed. I suggested that perhaps if there was going to be a contest that the contest be based on the author of the question ranking the answers, (not individuals ranking their own, as has perhaps been happening?) I've talked to a few people about this privately. I thought I should post here too, even though you (Heaven) and a few others know. I didn't really want to bring it up here myself, lest I just look like a sore loser or something, so I am SO glad that other people have noticed some weirdness here. I've answered a lot of questions, so I am high up on the list. I have no interest in the contest, (there are much better ways to earn $50, which isn't enough for groceries anyway!), I like to offer helpful advice if I can, prayers and support if I don't have the best answer to give. I wouldn't post something like 'google it', and I'm pretty sure everyone knows how to use google. I would also never say "I can't help you", because the whole point is to be helpful! That being said, since I have answered so many questions, I probably run the risk of having given an answer that wasn't as good somewhere in there. I do really hope that my answers have been seen as helpful and supportive. I don't think I've given any awful ones, and I'm pretty certain that this post wasn't specifically about me. Regardless, I do want to at least make clear here, since I've answered a bunch of questions, that I feel genuine care and concern for the other mamas on this site, I do pray for the other mamas, and I would feel bad if any of my answers had upset anyone! I'll probably keep answering a lot of questions, both because I try to be helpful and pass along info from my own experience or from friends of mine, and I've found some really friendly and supportive people on this site this way. Thankfully, the contest is being changed, and also thankfully, at least there is no weird contest on the polls! I do like to think that most of us are here for the right reasons, to find other mums and pregnant women to chat with, pray for, discuss similar issues with. It's actually been making me pretty sad lately to come on here, and see that some people really don't seem to care at all about other people's problems, other than to win money I guess.

Mommyof2boys - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I agree with you 100% I asked a question yesterday and one person answered with very high BB's and it had nothing at all to do with my question, I said thanks but thats nothing having to do with what my question was.. I try to answer every question with the best info I know and if I don't know I will go look it up my self and find out as much as I can to help. I wouldn't doubt it if "someone" were cheating to get that money at the end of the month maybe using another login name, if you add it all up and read their comments to most of the high rank questions it make's NO sense at all what they are even talking about.. Phew, I'm done venting now.

professorpreggers - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (3 votes) Thanks for bringing this up, I was starting to feel the same way. I asked a question that was of extreme concern to me and one person told me she didn't know, she'd never heard anything about what I was asking. Another person told me to ask my Dr--how insulting. I'ts obvious who is answering for bbs and who is answering out of a sense of concern or solidarity. Keep your bbs! I'm on this web site because I want/need the support and community of other pregnant women.

Laura Ward - 210 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The BB system will be changing next month to make it a fair and effective place to ask and provide answers. Check back soon for the updated system.

stephandisaac - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (3 votes) Yes, I just read one that said "sorry, I can't help you with that one". Then why the hell did you answer ?!! I agree...it's all about money now.

sarahann - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (2 votes) It is great to ask questions and get other peoples' opinions and experiences, but some answers appear to be written just for the sake of it, not even offering experience or opinion. We won't all agree with every answer, and some must just be taken at face value. I have a medical background, as well as motherhood (I am NOT saying that I'm an expert) but no answer in relation to a medical problem should be taken as gospel, always seek a professional opinion in that case. Some people answer questions that they feel they can help with, others just like to answer any question they can. I appreciate those who offer any real opinion or personal experience.

lilmissred - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (2 votes) I agree with Its-Chenelle.. I may not have an answer to some of the questions, BUT I might mention something similar that happened to me.. or hell I may just comment on their blog.. even tho I know they arent necess looking for feedback.. ex a mommy said tomorrow is her bday and shes excited to hang out with her gf's.. I dont think she was expecting a comment, but I wished her a happy early bday anyway and hoped she had a great time.. it was a sincere wish. Believe it or not.. alot of us here arent into the BB craze and those who are well thats just their problem.. dont let it stress u tho.. it cant be THAT serious :o)

Its-Chelle - 210 days ago Rating: 5 (3 votes) i dont care about the bb's at all..sometimes i may not have an answer, but i might at least comment with that to someone who had no answers at all so they dont feel ignored..i know all too well how that goes, sometimes people just flat out want any kind of answer so they know their question is read..besides in my boring parts of the day , its kinda nice to comment to people..lol

Heaven - 210 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I never called out anybodys name and i'm not targeting anyone. 3 of the the top 10 have emailed me privatly and agreed

lizzie287 - 210 days ago Rating: 2.8 (9 votes) I agree, someone recently got the top ranked answer on a question of mine and the answer was something completely useless: "I've never heard of that before". Umm. Thanks. For nothing. I love the BBs for people who are actually being helpful, but it seems that there are people working together to rate each other's answers or something like that so that they get the most. I think this is PROBABLY due to the $50 the highest-ranked "helper" gets at the end of the month.

JennSever - 210 days ago Rating: 2.5 (4 votes) i know - i don't answer any questions if i don't honestly know the answer or perhaps i have lived through it. i do this because i like to think i am being helpful to a stressed out mom/pregnant woman. we have all been there right? i can't stand it myself when i read, "don't know so i can't help you" and the person earns points off it! shameful!

agonzales - 210 days ago Rating: 2.6 (5 votes) I see your point. I dont even answer something if I have no experience with it or dont know anything about it.

ashleyandcaleb - 210 days ago Rating: 2.4 (7 votes) I wasn't aware people did it for BB's.That's pretty stupid.I'm not concerned with something that insignificant. When i say "google it" or "i've never heard of it" i'm just being honest..theres alot of good information on the internet.also im not gonna pretend i know something when i don't,but i will give anyone my support.

leahs - 210 days ago Rating: 2.3 (6 votes) I can see your point, you are asking for info and advice, I agree if I don't know about the topic I pass it by. Yes most members will give honest helpful answers but saying "I don't know, google it" is not helpful. Likewise if you think the question is so stupid why would you answer it?

jbsmommy - 210 days ago Rating: 2.6 (5 votes) I agree with you totall . unless I don't know anything about what they are asking I dont bother!
