Does/did anyone else have low amniotic fluid towards the end of pregnancy? I am 38 weeks and my fluid is at 9. They said if it gets to 5 they have to induce. The thing is I`m not dilated at all and heard that induction when not dilated can be hard and long.

Mommyof2boys - 1379 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The only thing I've heard about induced labor is the contractions come on faster and stronger. Either way if you were to dilate to 5 and stop and they give you potocin or something or your not dilated it all, it has the same effect its going to bring on the contractions to get your uterous contracting and you start dilating. Most people I've talked to say when they get their epidural they don't think anything of it and just breathe. Good luck and try not to worry, you will soon have a beautiful baby girl in your arms :)

sarahann - 1379 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) To help increase your amniotic fluid (if you haven't already tried) drink heaps of water. I was induced but I wasn't dilated at all, and my labour went for about 9 hours. They tried Cervedil which didn't work, then after 2 days of trying that they hooked me up to Pitocin, which got things started. Aparently when you're induced the contractions come on quicker and stronger, I ended up having an epidural to help. I guess everyone is different even when induced. I had other complications though, so my labour may have been shorter than that. Do not fear being induced if need be, even if you aren't dilated. You will be fine. I hope it all goes well for you.

HaTa - 1379 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the low amniotic fluid issue when I was pregnant with my first child. I was induced at 37 weeks 4 days, but by that point I was already dilated to 1cm. The labor lasted only 4 hours and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Don't worry, I am sure that your doctor will do something to make your cervix dilate beforehand...they have some kind of gel that speeds things up. Good luck!

liz82 - 1379 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when i was pregnant i had low fluid and they had to induce my labor at first it was long because they have given me ceverdil which is what they put in your cervix when they put it in the doctors leave it there for 12 hours to see if it works befor they can give you something eles to induce so it didnt work for me and my doctor gave me pitocin and within 4 hours i had my baby girl it wasnt that bad the only part i felt that was hard was when i was 10 the pain hit me all at once i had he not to long after that . i hope this helps out take care .

Baby3OnWay - 1379 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was induced, but again I was dilated and effeced but it wasn't so bad... but I have a few friends who were induced and it went quick others it went on for 30+hours. I hope it replenishes for you but if not I wish you the best of luck being induced. Either way be greatful you are concidered full term and that baby will way more then likely be healthy! best of luck hun
