I need help or at least some clarification to make me understand. Our doctor sent my wife to go have some sonograms done, and nothing was found at 5 weeks, and on the blood work they said that the HCG levels went down, the doctor keeps asking my wife if she is cramping or even spotting or bleeding, my wife is not having any of those symptoms, but yet they are telling us that she is going to MC.. how can this be possible. I guess what I am trying to find out is that a few days before on a sonogram we saw the sack, and then a few days later nothing.. I keep asking my wife how is she feeling and she tells me she is fine. whats going on? can anyone explain this?

BLIGHTED OVUM is basically a sac that is not producing/developing a baby inside... I would talk with the midwife or Dr about more info as they would be the ones to best diagnos and give info on your case! Best wishes to you and your fam

sounds like a blighted ovum - where the body goes thru the motions of pregnancy, but unfortunately the fetus did not develop (chromosomal abnormalities) you will have, at first, elevated hcg levels, but as the fetus does not develop the body goes into miscarriage stages. the next stage could take up to 4 wks - i would see another dr or ultrasound tech to make sure and then take the necessary steps. 1-5 women have a miscarriage of some type. i am sorry that this situation is happening.

good luck and you are in my prayers. just know before you know it you will have a beautiful baby. It took us over 2 years to get pregnant with many fertility treatments and a couple miscarriages. The time will come when all of this is just a memory.

sometimes when a fetus is unviable, its natures course to just let the body reabsorb the fetus. its not quite a MC, theres no need for a D&C cause it literally, just vanishes. ur wife wont feel any pain, and most likely wont be spotting or bleeding. it happens very early on when the body recognizes there is a problem. im sorry for u both. hopefully u can try again.

hi mr.worried sometimes the sack vanishes early on it has a name i just can't think of it right now i had a friend that had a vanishing sack and they thought that she had miscarried she went in to get a second opinion a few weeks later and there was the sack and lil baby the sack"vanished" at nine weeks and was found again at 12 weeks so that can happen
as for the hcg levels going down well that's usually not good but keep hope things could turn out just fine
please keep me updated on what happens
best of luck to you and your wife
