For about a week now,my baby won´t drink more than 3oz every three hours when he used to drink 5 to 6oz,also his sleeping pattern at night has changed,a week ago he´d sleep from 9:30pm till 4 to 6 pm and now he wakes every 3 to 4 hours to be fed, why?

skittles0607 - 58 days ago Rating: 4 (1 votes) They do go through a growth spurt. Have you tried giving him baby cereal. this may help him sleep awhile longer because his belly will be fuller..

Debra - 58 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) might be a growth spurt but sounds like he's not eating earlier in the evening and trying to make up for it at night. Give it a couple more days and keep offering it then every half hour to hour to make up the ounces. If his tongue thrust reflex is gone and he seems to be interested in your food, it might also be time to start him on some pablum, which you can try to give him around 8pm. It might help him sleep longer through the night as well. *teething could be responsible for this as well. Is he fussy? the gum pain can make them less interested in eating as well for a couple days. Try baby oragel or cool teething rings.

Baby3OnWay - 58 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) babys patterns change A LOT but if you are really concerned have them checked out. I'm sure nothing is wrong but Mommy knows best. Best luck

raqy - 59 days ago thanks alot for your answers Kayla.love and Brandi J. I think it´s probably what you said Kayla because he seems to be happy ,he doesn´t cry and sleeps well ,I´ll take him to the doctor anyway.

kayla-love - 59 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) It could be he has slowed down his drinking habits for now. He could be back to normal next week. With my 1st baby he was a little like this and I also used to worry. I always think they will eat if they´re hungry. If it carries on and he is loosing weight and his nappies are dry or he is not pooing so much then see his doctor. If he seems healthy, alert and sleeps well then it may just be he has slowed down. Then when he is having a growth spurt he will eat more. Remember your childs doctor is always there to help you so never feel like your worries or concerns are too silly to be answered.

Brandi J. - 59 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) Is he showing signs of teething? If his eating habits were to increase, it wouldn't be a big deal, it would just mean a growth spurt, however, since he has decreased his eating and he is not sleeping well, then it is possible that he may be sick. It's possible that he has an ear infection, I had 2 children that were prone to ear infections and this was my clue, b/c neither of them ran fevers w/ their ear infections. I suggest you make an appointment w/ your ped. just to make sure he isn't coming down w/ something and if he is then you can get it knocked out before it gets too bad. I hope he feels better soon, I know it is hard to see that something is not right w/ your baby and you are not sure how to fix it.

raqy - 60 days ago oops i ment at night he used to sleep really well from about half ninepm till 4 am or 6 am,and now he wakes up every 3 to 4 hours to be fed.(he´ll be 4 months old on monday)
