I felt the kicks way earlier and got way bigger faster (however that can be normal for the second time round). I really had no idea until my 16 W ultrasound showed twins on there. I had no m/s this time or when pg with my son. Up until 18 W other than earlier movement and getting big faster there was no difference. But from then on it is night and day - extreme agony/discomfort most of the time due to the rapid increase in size etc.

Well i am ENORMOUS and at 6 months look like i was at 8 months last time! Tummy grew from 12 weeks onwards and just keeps getting bigger! Was told at 12 week scan that i was having twins. The movement is well weird compared to one baby. Mine are lying down my left hand side, and the right hand side. One kicks and punches and turns, then the other. When they do it together in the middle it feels really strange! There really is a difference in the feeling and movement. x

Hi there. I am currently 31 weeks with twin boys ad have 3 other children. From the moment I fell pregnant I knew this was different. I wasnt sick at all with my prev single, and this time I was ill for a long time. I didnt find out we were having twins until I was 18 weeks by u/s. I did feel movement from as early as 10 weeks but as I have had prev children they are sooner.I dot know how else to explain how different, but I def knew this time round was! Good luck. :)

I'm not sure as I have only had singletons, but I do agree w/ what ibudoris said. However, even w/ u/s sometimes twins are looked over, b/c one may be hiding behind the other. Some women feel no different. I am a member of an online digest for mothers of many children, and one of the mothers on it thought that she was having twins, however her midwife never picked up more than one baby heartbeat, she didn't carry any different, she just had a suspicion, but her midwife told her that there was only 1. However, when she was in labor and delivered the 1st baby, her midwife knew that the size of the baby was small compared to the mother's other babies, so she was suspicious then and found that there was indeed twins! :o)

From everything I've read some mom's have no clue until their in delivery, and others just know very early. The only way to truly tell is to have an ultrasound.
