which way does your incision go? Up and down like mine or across??

athome - 150 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Just so you know, the scar you have on your tummy is not in any way indicative of the type of caesarian you have had. You can still have a scar along your bikini line and have had a classical incision ( straight up and down). The only way too find out is to get access to your medical report. HTH

Baby3OnWay - 152 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) friends is across

o0kathryn0o - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Mine is across and below the bikini line too. It healed quite well too. If it wasn't for my post-preg jelly belly making it totally obvious, you'd never know it was there :o)

mrscolegrove - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) mine is horizontal very low in the hair line

karenc - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my incision goes across and is below the bikini line. my understanding is that emergency c-section incisions are vertical, going up and down.

Mommyof2boys - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Mine is Low transverse incision which they use more today because it heals faster and make's it easier for future pregnancies.

BoyStruckX2 - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have had two c sections. My first the baby got wedged in the birth canal and it was an emergency situation and it is side to side as far down as you can go. But with my second one, which was scheduled its up higher above my bikini line and side to side. Depending on the reason for the emergency is which way they would go. Going up and down with my first would have really not helped.

Brandi J. - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Thankfully, I haven't ever had to have a c-section, however, I know of many women who have had them. All of theirs are across, below "the bikini line". Not many are done up and down now, unless it is an emergency or another medical reason for it, such as, my friend is about to have her 4th c-section, all of the others were done horizontally, but this one will be done up and down b/c her uterus was attached to scar tissue from a previous surgery (I think performed for endometriosis), so the safest way for her this time will be up and down.

nikola212 - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they used to do the c-sections up and down, but now they do them at your bikini line, i have heard also that when it is done vertical then you'll have to have your other kids cesarean...hope that helped...

k-kaye - 153 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My incision goes across and it's very low, like right below where a bikini would be. I think that emergency c-sections are done up and down and others are done across.
