A question for mom`s who have had their sons circumcised- how long did it take your baby to heal? Did you have to push down the skin at all or have problems with adhering skin of the shaft to the head of the penis? My son had his son 10 days after birth and after 3 months it had some problems with the skin adhering to the head. I`m still having to push the skin down periodically and I`m wondering how long before i can expect it to be fully healed?

I would talk to your Dr about your concerns. My son had his less then 24 hours after birth and the bandages were off within 24 hours and it was tender and red still for a few days but thats about it! it healed up completley within a week and I didn't have to do anything with skin. Until you get to a dr cake the head of the penis in vasaline!! Best of luck hun!...

My son was around 6-7 months old when his skin had to be "ripped" from the head of his penis. Poor little guy, I felt sooo bad for him. They say that soap, dirt, baby powder ect... gets in there and the skin starts to form around it. I think I pulled down the skin until he was almost a year. He's now 2 and he's never had anymore problems :)

My son had it done at I think it was two days old. They put a ring on it to hold it down. This of course was 15 years ago. He had no problems. I didn't have to do anything special to it. It healed in a week or two. A friend of mine's son had to get his snipped a little more when he was a little older. They may not have cut it properly. It should be healed by now. I would see another doc if yours isn't giving you the answers you want.

thanks for the answers so far. My son is 6 months old now and i've taken him back to the doctor's already where he had to push the skin back. I'm using vaseline now again as I've had to push it back more recently- it just seems strange that its taking so long to heal fully.

Hi, my son had his done when he was two days old, he fell asleep during it and it healed up in bout a week or two..his umbilical cord took longer to fall off then his circumsizen did to heal. we were told and flollowed this after the procedure: you dont touch it after the procedure is done, it will have a bit of gauze on it and all you do is put a dab of vasoline on it till it heals. my son's never had any problems and it healed fast...I would call his doctor, if there is a problem with circusizen the doctor needs to check it out, I have never heard of one taking 3 months to heal and I have never had to push any skin back.
