just found out today according to my lab results i had some abnormal cells for my pap. has this happened to anyone else. im so scared. my doc says everythings going to be ok. it happens to alot of women. can anyone relate?

uhmanduh - 57 days ago ***well last night i was freaking out so i called my dr this morning. they said its a low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion. i looked up the info on it..has anyone had this???****

bonnieheather - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yeah i know lots of girls they wont treat you till after the baby is born and you will get get some laser treatment.. i just hd the treatment a few weeks ago for a cervical erosion.. its totally fine. dont worry.

sarahann - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) HPV can make cells abnormal. It is very common but that doesn't make it any less scary when you're the one being told you have abnormal cells. Your doctor should've told you that you will need another pap smear sooner than normal, just to check that everything is normal again. You can't get rid of the HPV but it won't always affect your results. Try not to worry, you should be fine.

Baby3OnWay - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had this but not during pregnancy... they said something like pre-cancer cells or something. Things worked out fine though. Don't stress it to much as your Dr would have more info I would just start asking questions about it and what it may lead to...

stephandisaac - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have had abnormal paps and biopsy for the last 2 years ( ever since my first son was born.) I actually have to go in for another colposcopy this month because my pap was abnormal. I get worried too sometimes, but the doctors don't seem to upset about it. Take it one day at a time hun...it will all be fine, I'm sure :)

athome - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Its really common in pregnancy to get weird results from a Pap test beecause there are so many changes going on down there. Most doctors choose to wait until after you have the baby for this reason. I wouldn't worry, I have had strange results during pregnancy that my doctor has put off re testing until after the bub was born and they turned out to be fine.

xidja - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the same thing a couple years ago. Mine was also HPV. I've had several paps since then and they have all come back normal. Do you feel better about it now that you know why it was abnormal?

lizzie287 - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) A couple years ago the same thing happened to me. It's usually not a big deal, they usually correct themselves and usually are not cancerous. Same thing happened with a woman I worked with. Her doc told her it can come from smoking (which wasn't the reason for me either, but who knows) ... I really wouldn't worry about it too much. You'll have to go back for a repeat pap every 6 months until you've had 3 consecutive normal tests (at least I did ...)

uhmanduh - 57 days ago well the doc says the abnormal cells is a form of HPV

Melanie07 - 57 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My first pap with my first baby came back abnormal. Everything was fine. Sometimes the pregnancy will make it seem abnormal. Try and relax. If the doc isn't concerned then you should be fine.
