When I walk for a long period of time, or have a long and jam-packed day, I feel my belly tighten. Are these braxton hicks contractions? What do these contractions feel like?

amber325 - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I get them too, I get them after walking alot or if I eat too much! :) They are annoying and when they are really bad it messes with my asthma even more and its hard to breathe

Brandi J. - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes, this is Braxton Hicks. Braxton Hicks are not usually painful however, some women, including myself find them to be uncomfortable and painful at times. Use these contractions as practice for the real ones, practice your breathing exercises and relaxation methods.

Baby3OnWay - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) YES I get them on hectic days myself!! I get pain later on with mine but for now its just a real tightening within my belly. Starts in one spot and moves throughout the entire belly!

agonzales - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I also get them when I walk for awhile. They feel like your stomach is tightening and kinda like cramping. Some women say they feel no pain but I have when I get them.

lizzie287 - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I get the same thing. I think they're braxton-hicks. They can be uncomfortable for some people (like me, I literally double over in pain when I get them), or some people don't even feel them. My prenatal class instructor described them as a wave of tightness that surrounds your uterus. I personally think it feels like someone is trying to wring out my uterus. Hurts like hell!

jessicadarling - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) That would be Braxton Hicks. I found closer to the end though they do become more uncomfortable.

BoyStruckX2 - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I disagree. Braxton hicks can be very uncomfortable and painful to a point depending how bad you have them and how far along you are. Yes those so like braxton hicks. They don't have to be painful. They werent with my first but were with my second. My doctor says that it is common for them to become more uncomfortable with every pregnancy.

professorpreggers - 148 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) thats what I thought they were. I get the same thing after being on my feet all day. BH just feel like a tightening of the uterus--no pain, just some squeezing. They go away as soon as I lay down and rest on my left side.
