Appetite and Food Suggestions

Hello mamas! I had previously posted a question about appetite as I had started to lose mine around 9-10 weeks. It thought that since then it was improving but it really hasn`t... and in fact now, not only is my appetite still dwindling here and there, I have been getting increasingly nauseous when I never had morning sickness to begin with. Could this still be hormonal? Or do you think it`s moreso now from my organs getting pushed around more with my little Bean growing bigger? And do you have any suggestions on anything else I can eat on days that I don`t want to other than Ensure shakes? (Which my doctor has approved for me to drink if needed). Thanks in advance everyone!

lulizzle - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I lived on cereal for the first few months of my pregnancy!

asutori - 72 days ago Thank you to everyone who has replied!! I really appreciated it :) This has been quite distressing for me since I used to be a really big eater... everyone knows me for wanting to eat all the time and now when I tell them I'm not hungry, they just look at me in shock. And obviously, I am very concerned for my little one, so I try to eat as nutritiously as I can, when I can.

monica9 - 72 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you can make shakes with milk and yogurt for protein and berries for fruit. You can add ground flax seed which is really good for you and has the omegas that you need. just make sure you are getting your protein. just to let you know, i never got morning sickness but around 11-12 weeks I had a stomach bug and everything made me sick and i had diarrhea so i thought i was getting morning sickness later than I should have but it was just a bug. good luck and its normal to lose appetite but make sure you force healthy food down for your baby's sake.

lilbittymunchkin - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i am in the same position. i dont want to eat but i force myself to. i have been eating animal crackers. they are low fat and they are very filling. i eat about a cup of them and i feel so much better. after that i can eat any thing i want. i guess my stomach just needs a coating before i can eat anything else. hope it helps you. :)

asutori - 73 days ago That's exactly it, nagging nausea, not enough to make you throw up, but once in a while I can gag for no reason at all. I force myself to eat but it can be so hard some days. I appreciate knowing that I'm not alone!!

gr8scottswife - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) We have the same problems. I have to force myself to eat. I eat plenty because I make myself. I am nauseated all day long, still, but in a different way than in the first trimester. It's like a nagging thought, there but subtle. Sometimes its there more noticeably, like it has been for five days now. One thing that has helped me is drinking a soda. I hate doing it as I was never a big soda drinker to begin with, and I don't want to get a habit of drinking them, but in the mornings, especially, it soothes my stomach.

Mindieswan - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would not stress to much, I did not gain any weight for the first 5 months. I did not have much of an appetite either. Now, it's icreased a bit.. but I get full fast. Maybe try some jumba juice to get some fruit and vitamins.

asutori - 73 days ago I actually never thought of fruit shakes or smoothies... but I have a minor lactose intolerance so I would have to see how my tummy would take it if I added yogurt or milk. I also do take my vitamins everyday religiously... I guess my main concern is moreso about calories as well because when I do eat, I try to make it as nutritious as possible.

xidja - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with cutting up fresh fruit and eating that. I can pretty much always eat fruit! I don't know for sure how nutritious they are but have you ever had Instant Breakfasts? Its a powder drink you make with milk. Its interesting you have lost your appetite, I really don't have any idea why-I don't know anything I'm a first timer! Good luck!

KarenVG - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) maybe have some fruit cut up ready to eat if you like fruit. Sometimes the effort of making it then puts me off wanting to eat so try and have something you can nibble on, it does not have to be alot each time. However your nausea could be a result of you not eating enough, so if you have a taste for something in particular go for it. Try some homemade fruit shakes. ALso make sure you have your multivitamin. Sometimes I do not want to eat but I think I should just for the babe inside of me, sometimes that is all I need to motivate my taste buds...

skittles0607 - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Have you tried using a blender with fruits and veggies. its not solid food but at least you get some other nutrients from it.. You can make any flavor ou want. good luck
