Im nervous I dont kow what they feel like or BH. Ive had a really great pregnancy and sometimes when I get out of bed quickly I feel a pain. Will I know what they are if I do have them. Im just nervous I will not notice them or blow it off and it will be too late to get help.

corrin - 72 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Trust me you will know when you have contractions....theres no way you can not notice them!!!!

mattie4 - 72 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i can pretty much promise you that you will "notice" them :). B.H. are harder to detect... but the real thing...not so much. :)

axia - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) with my last pregnancy, every appointment i went past a certain point they would ask if i was feeling any contractions... i think this is a hilarious question to ask a first time prego... i gave the same answer every time... "i don't know, what does it feel like?" then when i was induced and that first one hit... let me just say this, if it's a contraction, TRUST ME you will know. i can't describe what they feel like, cause i think everyone experiences them differently, just like there are different types of period cramps... but i promise when it happens, you will know... i think the first thing i said when mine happened was "oh! that's what a contraction feels like." it was one of the funnier moments with B's delivery (that i remember anyways) good luck!!!!

Debra - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) THey feel like menstrual cramps which get worse as your labor progresses. Have a look at my VIP site for tips on getting through them. I also have further descriptions of contractions and what BH feels like as well. Mine weren't so bad and I felt powerful throughout my labor to the point where i missed it. I'm not weird contrary to what you might be thinking. Birth is an amazing experience that women are privileged to have knowledge of. It prepares you for becoming a mother and you will get through it! I also recommend reading "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" Its so full of positive stories, that reading it will make you know what to expect, how to handle the contractions, allow you to dilate faster and go into birth knowing that you will preform this task as women are designed to. Good luck!0

youngmumof2 - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi unless your one of the few luckly ones who never really notice they are in labour i can assure you, you will no when your having them they fill like nothing you've ever felt and its hard to explain to someone what they feel like if youv'e never had them b4 but you will no when its time your body will tell you. Good luck and all the best.

lilcbabii - 73 days ago Thanks I kind of knew everyone would say that but it feels better really hearing it! I was just nervous but now not looking forward to it!! Lol Cant wait=)

bvalley1982 - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) your gonna be in sooo much pain you wont be able to do anything but feel pain and try to get thru the pain. you'll know. if youre super worried call the hospital and ask they're opinion.

Baby3OnWay - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) OMG YES YOU WILL KNOW FOR SURE!!!! You will know when you can't breath right between them, or stand on your feet... I'm sure you will get to the hospital before they get too bad though! Best of Luck!

JennSever - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) when you rise to quickly what you might be feeling is round ligament pain. its the muscles that are keeping your uterus inside your body. as for contractions - it feels like someone is grabbing your belly and lower backing and squeezing relatively hard. the hard the squeeze the more likely hood that they are real contractions and not just simple b/h's. drink plenty of h2o throughout the day and your pains should rapidly diminish.

athome - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Um I think thats wishful thinking LOL !! Braxton hicks feel like your tummy going hard for a few mins then relaxing but it doesn't matter if you dont notice them, they are not painful and only your body getting some practice. When the real thing starts you WILL notice and it wont be too late. Your first labour is likely to take quite some time ie 12 hours plus so you will get plenty of notice to get to hospital, far more notice than you probably will want. !! the pain you feel when standing up quickly is ligament pain. Thats nothing to worry about.

Its-Chelle - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes like christina said, bh's get tight at top of stomach for a bit, hardens and stops, but contractions are basically like horrible menstrual cramps..but i too felt those at times and wasnt in labor, but when it happens you just know, cause they keep coming regularly and get longer, stronger, closer together.i remember being told to walk around and see if it continues..if they stop when im up and around or sitting and resting, its false labor, but otherwise if it continues while sitting or walking, it could be time..oh, i too got some pains if getting out of bed too quick so make sure and get up easy, doc always told me to get up slowly..

BoyStruckX2 - 73 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I used to have BH really bad when I would get up from anywhere. The couch, bed, out of the car, etc

christina1984 - 73 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) bh u may not notice but it is an uncomfortable tightening of the top of ur stomach that goes down and lasts from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. real contractions u wont miss! they are like severe menstral cramps that should start about 15 minutes apart and then get down to like 3 or 4. sorry to scare u but they are unbareable, at least for me. i went thru 22 hrs of it with no meds cuz my doc sent me home saying i wasnt in labor when i was. got to the hospital in time to push. my water didnt break and i just saw blood thats what mad me think the doc was wrong
