Tanning beds heat you too much and can deplete your body of nutrients. The tanning bed is dangerous for anyone who abuses them daily because they can literally cook you from the inside out. Tanning is dangerous even though it is popular. It is not good for your skin or your baby.

I would not tan while pregnant and I would stay out of the sun. You don't want your belly exposed to the rays. I hang out at the pool with a tank top and my bikini bottoms on. Try spray tan, that is perfectly fine.

Its not good to get overheated while pregnant and also when you are further along you are not supposed to lay flat on your back.

i would say no. i think its too dangerous while pregnant. i just use aveeno summer radiance ( or whatever its called) it works great and isnt fake looking like spray on tans. it gradually makes u darker by inhancing ur own skin pigments or something along those lines. thats just my opinion on the matter

UV rays are harmful. Too much concentrated heat in the tanning bed. Tanning beds bulbs deplete the body's supply of folic acid - which the lack of can cause birth defects early on. Overheating yourself, in turn raising your body temperature, can also cause birth defects in the spine and brain. Baby's in the womb turn away from direct sunlight, so imagine what it's like for them to be stuck in a tanning bed with no where to get away to.

The uv rays are so harmful compared to the natural sun. Think about how fast you are getting a tan compared to being outside. The radiation is terrible for baby!!

1. Overheating. 2. Harmful UV rays. Do you really want to expose your body to that? 3. You can tan all you want when you are not pregnant- but remember that tanning lots now when you are young will only age you by 10-20 years- meaning that when you are 30 you will look 40, 40=50 and so on. Just watch TLC's 10 years younger. Most of the episodes have women on there trying to turn back time b/c they look like a leather handbag all b/c of tanning and or smoking.

I think if you go to page 5 of the questions, there are two tanning questions there with lots of answers that may help you out... again the biggest concern is the overheating since your baby has no way to cool down it's own body temperature, it's fully depending on you to stay cool.

The same reason you can't have a hot bath or go in a hot tub. Tanning beds are like a little oven. No way you want to cook your baby. Okay it won't cook the baby but it would cause their temperature to rise too high

as others have written - it causes your core temp to rise, therefore it potentially deadly for your baby. do the spray or sit outside. tanning beds should be reserved for when you get your body back all to yourself.

The tanning bed tans you from inside out not on the outside. My doctor said to use a spray on tan or sit in the sun for a few mins a day but make sure to stay hydrated. I would stay out of the tanning bed until your through your pregnancy.

i know it is hard not to go tanning when you get in the habbit of it but the uv rays are bad for the baby since their skin is transparent right now. you can do that spray tan though. i think it looks as good as a tanning bed tan.
