Hi ladies. I have a question for you girls that have taken birth control right after having a baby. I am on my first pack of birth control. I only have 4 `sugar` pills left and still haven`t started my period. Is there any chance that my period is just off or am I pregnant again ? I have a 2 year old, a 2 month old and I am getting married next May. I really wanted to wait until our honeymoon to get pregnant, but if I am...I am ! Ever happen to any of you ???

Did you breast feed?? They say that can delay your period. Also, it can take a few months to get back on track with your period. I would just use other protection to make sure you don't get pregnant right away.

my AF never started til i was on starting a new pack. the week after the sugar pills. it did this for about three months and then it got on track. your body has to adjust to the birth control first. :)

I'm on Micronor- the pill thats ok to take while breastfeeding. mY baby is 6 months and i haven't seen any signs of period. I haven't felt myself ovulate either. I know this can be normal for your period to not start for months if you are breastfeeding, but it is also possible to get pregnant easily as your body has just been pregnant and knows what to do. I started on my pills just 4 weeks after birth. If you don't take your pill around the same time every day or miss one, then it is possible to get pregnant. If you are really worried, take a pregnancy test and put your mind at ease. Otherwise, the packaging usually suggests you should use a condom or other back up barrier for the first 3 weeks of starting a new prescription.

Birth control will take a while to kick in. So if you started it four weeks ago you shouldn't have had unprotected sex until at least next month I would say. Although if you are breastfeeding I have heard it is normal for women to not get it for 3 months. I am not sure how the pill would affect that

I have gotten pregnant while on birth control an I do know that you should wait a few weeks when first starting to have sex, or unprotected at least. Theres a chance it might start a little later though but if you are concerned, and don't get it soon i would try taking a test or talking to your Dr. When I got prego with my second I was on the patch and still got my period up until I was 3or4 months pregnant. You just never know!
