She will let you know. If you start dumping protien in your urine she will send you however most pregnant woman get swollen legs, hands and feet. Also 140/90 is a little high but deffinatly not dangerous. Try not to worry. She will probably put you on a blood pressure medicine. I do understand how you feel though. I had preeclampsia with a bp of 192/106 and then full blown eclampsia with a bp of 206/ 146. They induced us 7 weeks early and we had to be on alot of medicine so just be watchful but do not worry alot!!

Hi. If your doc didn't seem too concerned then you should just try to relax. I just got out of the hospital because they were concerned that I had high blood pressure. After a nice sit in the labor and delivery my blood pressure went way down but because I was so worried I went into preterm labor and had to have two shots of a med that stops contractions. So, my advice to you is to NOT worry as much as possible because that is the worst thing you can do. If they were concerned they would have monitored you and your baby. Hang in there! God bless you and your little one. Please try to relax and not worry!

If you get a headache at ALL- get to a doctor asap and have your BP checked. Having a headache can be an indicator of rising blood pressure. Both parts of your blood pressure are at the high side of normal- but they are still ok. The trick will be to keep it there or lower. So: Drink water (which means staying close to bathroom) and stay away from salty foods if possible. Drinking water will flush your system. Lightly exercise if possible by stretching (yoga) to maintain flexability- otherwise take it easy and rest. Try to not worry (impossible i know!) but being stressed will make your BP go up. Elevate those feet and try to do 20 min cool water soaks with either bath salts or epsom salts 1-2 times a day. Listen to relaxing music, watch relaxing movies. Have your partner do things for you. Have him give you a foot massage (lightly though and stay away from the ankles). The point of massage is to promote blood flow and decrease swelling. It should not hurt and if it hurts, stop. Massaging the calf muscles is good but massage movements should move UP the leg not down. Laying on your left side means that you keep pressure of your abdominal aorta- the main artery that carries blood to your legs. Promote blood flow as much as possible- get fresh air, stay out of smoking environments. I'm a registered nurse- so i do know what i'm talking about. I hope this helps you!

You need to stay off your feet as much as you can, drink plenty of water and lay on your left side and prop pillows around you and under your feet to reduce the swelling. Watch what you are eating try to cut out a lot of carbs and sweets. The doctor will monitor your situation and will put you on meds if things get worse or complete bed rest. So in the mean time rest every hour for 15mins with your legs up and take it easy.

i have had pre-e twice. The Dr. will let you know when to worry. Your bp isnt too bad. It is higher...but not dangerous. Mine was really really high b/4 they decided to induce. I was however put on a salt restrictive diet and told to lay on my leftside. It helped when i laid on my leftside b/c it took the pressure of the main artery (cant think of the name of it at this moment and too lazy to look it up...lol) and it helped alot with the bp. I actually ended up on strict bedrest which involved staying on the leftside and no salt. good luck...i hope your not getting Pre-e. Pitocin...sucks
oh yeah...they also should be checking to make sure your not spilling any proteins in your urine...thats a major biggie in pre-e. call your dr and make sure all your questions are asked...stress and worry doesnt help with high blood pressure :)

If your Dr was that worried about it I think they would have given you advise on what to do... If you are really worried though I would either make a call to the Dr or go to the hospital and start asking some questions
