Natural remedies for a nasty head cold?

I have a nasty head infection—my tonsils are huge, my glands are swollen—the whole crappy nine yards. I went to my GP today and he rightfully didn’t want me to take antibiotics unless I absolutely have to. He said the infection is not harmful to the baby and he recommended I gargle with salt water. Do any of you ladies have any other natural remedies that have helped you get over a wicked cold during pregnancy?

karenc - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ugh, i'm sorry you feel crappy. when I was sick & prego, I just tried to drink orange juice and herbal frit teas with honey to stay hydrated & soothe my throat. I used a little vick's vapo-rub on my chest a night and bought a nightlight that used mentholated strips to send vapors into the air while I slept -- helped with chest congestion. hope you feel better soon!

Add some vicks vaporub, then put a towel over your head, put your head over the bowl and tent the towel over the whole thing. Stay there as long as you can breathing in deeply. It will really clear you up. You can keep leaving then coming back.

riknlee - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) get on board all the natural remedies you can - garlic, onion, honey gargling with aspirin, do a search on the internet. Def salt water gargles. Once I got rid of a head cold by drinking water all day. just keep drinking and you will flush it out - good luck with it.
