hi all. ok this is gonna sound stupid....but im going to have a c-section which i really didnt want. with a natural birth u have to push out the baby and all the placenta etc. but as im having a c-section will i have all that nasty leakage of blood and stuff after the birth??? sorry but i have no idea, and in all books they say to bring sanitary towels with you, but ther is no mention of that with a c-section. please help x xx

sibandtwins - 197 days ago thank you all for your comments. think im a bit more prepared!! lol. i just hope that my belly will go down after the birth seeing as i wont b able to do much excersise afterwards :( x x x

captshelley - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes you'll still bleed.

karenc - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes, you'll definitely be bleeding, so be sure to bring pads and some 'big' underwear to hold the pads. I had an unexpected c-section too - it wasn't fun, but everything's healed up nicely and I feel good. you're going to be just fine :)

Mommyof2boys - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes you will still have the bleeding as vaginal delivery mom's do and you will have the cramps from your cervix shrinking back down to normal pre-pregnancy size. You can bleed up to 3-6 weeks.

jen - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Just had my son via emergency c-section almost 4 months ago, and yes, I bled off and on for about 3 weeks. Good luck!

HollieNJax - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes you will still have the normal discharge after your C-section

slg3233 - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes you will unfortunately!

KarenVG - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes it is the same as the natural birth and also you will feel the uterus contract, usually mostly when the baby if feeding. I am to have my 3rd c-section this year! Get yourself some of the thickest sanitary towels, pads you can find they will do the job great.

Baby3OnWay - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes you will still bleed after a csection...

stephandisaac - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had 2 c-sections. I bled for about 2-3 weeks with both...so yes, you will still need pads :( Sucks I know, but it's all worth it :)

jessicadarling - 200 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) When you receive a csection, as the doctors are the ones who clean you out, you will have a lot less bleeding than women who deliver naturally. I don't believe you will be completely bleeding free but you won't have to go the full 6 weeks like the others
