Sometimes what leaks is yellowish, others it`s more of an amber color- that`s not dried blood is it? Anyone else getting cracked, chapped or peeling `nibbles`? :)

no, its just colostrum. Rub it into your nipples after a shower. It will help to condition them. Get yourself some LANOLIN cream. I liked the MEDELA brand. Use it every night. See my VIP site for tips on breastfeeding. Also make sure you have acidophilous supplements on hand to start taking 2-3 weeks before you deliver. Take it the entire time you are breastfeeding to prevent yeast infections. See my VIP site on why this is so important and for other tips on what to take to the hospital, pregnancy and after baby care.

Yes I get them but I also breastfed in the past. You can actually try getting nipple cream now to help them out!!

I had real bad chapped nipples. It hurt like hell for a good month but I used the nipple sheild. I don't think amber is a good color. I've heard of blue-ish and green-ish tent from certain foods but not amber.

My nipples bleed in the beginning w/ each of my babies, mostly w/ baby #2. They were horrible, and the blood would upset his tummy. W/ baby #3 and 4 it wasn't as bad b/c I used lanolin after each feeding and this helped tremendously!!

The chapping and cracking is normal. I don't have any experience with colostrum being amber coloured, only yellowy. I agree with kater - if you aren't in any pain, bring it up at your next dr. visit. To wager a guess, it might relate to diet, the presence or lack or certain minerals/vitamins in your colostrum. It doesn't sound like blood though - dried or old blood is brownish, not amber.
