I love our crib-side music player, it's a fish aquarium w/soft music, and lights that turn on/off with the music. It helped my kids fall asleep at night, and entertained them if they wake up in the night. It hangs at their level, so they can bump a button and turn it on themselves.

Favorite things: a boppy pillow (great for supporting baby while nursing), and a sling (super for keeping your hands free while carrying baby)
Waste of money: Diaper Genie (works great at first, but will eventually stink badly...and you can not remove the smell, so it must be thrown away)

I absolutly love my bottle warmer and wipe warmer...I didn't have either with my first son and now I wonder how I lived without them ! Waste of money is special bottles. I bought fancey bottles with both my boys and stopped using them by 3 months. Regular bottles are so much easier. Unless they have colic, I suggest everyone use standard bottles. haha

Favorite things so far are the mirror in my car so I can see him while he's facing backwards and the video monitor I finally broke down and bought. It was expensive but so far the peace of mind it gives me is so worth it! Biggest waste of money...... baby toys, he only plays with all of the things he's not supposed to play with :-).

I'd say the thing I never use is the mirror for the car that will show your babies reflection in your rear view mirror. It fell off before we even brought him home from the hospital and it's been on the floor of the car ever since. I thought it would be great....guess not! My favorite gift is his crib. It's a great convertable crib that will change to a toddler bed, then a day bed, then a full size bed. Love it, love it, love it!

The biggest waste was the change table. We usually just take the pad out of her diaper bag and change her wherever we are in the house. The change table is nice for storage but a dresser or closet does the same thing. Also her bouncy chair is rarely used. I swear by the swing though! Also everyone should have one of those water tempurature animals for the babies bath!

I received a baby bath that I never used...when he was tiny we layed a towel down in the sink and put him in there, and when he got bigger he just sat in my lap in the tub with me!! Now he sits up on his own in the bath tub. I think the crib and the bassinet were a waste for me as well. He sleeps in our bed most of the time and only naps for an hour or so in his crib.

i bought the little bumbo thing when my daughter was 3 months old and hardly used as she learned to sit up at 5 months she didnt want to sit in it anymore... so that was a waste to me and the thing i love but thought i would hate in the beginning was the glider she still takes naps in it....

My BAbies baby seat was a waste of money really as my kids never really liked them we had two different kinds! Most useful was a little bassinet pod thing that had a zippered mosquito net great for taking anywhere, sadly not available anymore!
