hi, ive just agreed to try a vbac this time rd with my doctor and now a freinds mentioned that with her they would only allow her labour to go on 8 hrs before they would do an emergency c section, this seems a little odd to me and i doubt my ds will arrive in hrs just wondered if there is a time limit before they`d intervine if there are no other complications????

moms the word - 125 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have never heard of that. All doctors and hospitals are different. Ask your doc to see what his/her policy is or policies of the hospital. As long as you are not having problems during labor and the baby is tolerating it well, they should let you labor. I have heard that they will not give pitocin or other induction drugs to VBAC moms due to the risk of uterine rupture. Good Luck! I am going to attempt a VBAC myself. For more info about your rights as far as VBAC goes, look at the ICAN website (International Cesarean Awareness Network) they have lots of helpful information.
