I was wondering if this was happening to anyone else, and if so do you know why or what to do for it? When I am sleeping I have random leg, foot and arm cramps like charlie horses that wake me up in pain and I have to rub them out it happenes almost every night lately. Someone once said it was lake of fluid in take but with me that`s impossible I drink about 8 or 9 glasses of water a day.

Debra - 94 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Lack of potassium is one, Calcium is another and more likely. Are you taking a calcium supplement? A lack of calcium can cause twitching and cramps. Fluid build up is another reason, and though it is related to the amount you drink (which sounds like a good amount btw) it also has to do with sodium intake. Fluid can build up due to pressure- so it may be helpful to sleep supported with pillows.

camilleldj28 - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had that with my first baby. I use to cry uz they hurt so bad , man. But now with my 2nd baby i only get them if I stretch real hard in the morning if I wake up . Then its on and popping I be in so much pain. All you can do is rub it out.And pray another doesn't come back in one minute.

monica9 - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) many pregnant woman get this and it is normal b/c of the lack of potassium. try eating bananas. though it may not work completely, it may easy up the cramping. try also stretching.

jen - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's lack of potassium that is causing your cramps....I suffered from this too! They are so stinkin painful! Up your banana intake, I think spinach is high in potassium too. Keep up with your vitamins and ask your OB if you can take a potassium suppliment. Good luck!

Its-Chelle - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i dont know why that happened, but i had that a lot too during sleep, i would turn over and then get the cramp in my leg..freaked me out, i was afraid to move and stretch my leg..its just a common thing later in pregnancy

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doctor recommended taking in more calcium to stop the cramping, and it worked out for me! I drink an extra glass of milk a day, and haven't had any cramps for over a month now, maybe even two months!

Allioop - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) That is actually a common complaint in the later stages of pregnancy. I'm not sure what causes it, but I used to get horrible charlie horses in my legs in my 3rd trimester when I was pregnant with my daughter. Always at night when I was in bed. There's just so many things going on it's impossible to feel good at the end of a pregnancy! LOL

agonzales - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Drink lots of water and eat bananas. The potassium in bananas helps with the cramps. I had them with my last pregnancy and recently started to get them with this pregnancy but just not as much.. I hope.

KarenVG - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I drink water, eat bananas eat more calcium but they still come fast and strong, Mine always start as I wake up so i have learnt to try and stop them as I know how they start! However, do not feel bad if you have eaten and drunk everything people tell you and they still come. It is a little genetic too, my mother had them like the stretch marks so I guess they are a for sure for me! My massage therapist told me to use the oppisite foot to push the cramping legs foot down. It helps to stop the cramp too but go with what works for you...

Bienks - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi, im refering to a book now called what to expect when you're expecting, I also had bad leg cramps at night and woke up in pain from muscles pulling, looked it up and they say that doctors don't really have an expination for it and there isn't anything that takes it away rubbing will help but it will not stop the effect of them cramping, sorry wish I could help more !!
