I am 17 week prego and I havent gained a pound I am actually loosing weight but eating like crazy. What else can I do to y=try and gain the weight. My doctor wants me to gain atleast 10 punds by 20 weeks???



asutori - 123 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am at 18 weeks and have gained about 5 lbs and have had them tell me too that I should be at 10 or 15 by now... but at the same time, they said not to worry. I had lost weight myself originally because I lost my appetite (not because I was sick or had nausea), and now I eat and ton and still not much has changed. Like others have said, as long as you feel healthy and are eating healthy, the baby will take what it needs and keep growing! Good luck!

moms the word - 124 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Are you still havin m/s? That is usually what keeps me from gaining weight during pregnancy. I would suggest eating more later in the day/evening but sticking with healthy foods. Dairy products offer high protein and you can get them in lower fat alternatives. Have some frozen yogurt or light ice cream as long as they don't contain artificial sweeteners which can cause some birth defects my doc says. Don't stress cause that can lead to loss of appetite and weight loss as well. Monitor your physical activity and don't over exert yourself and you should be just fine. I have lost 11 pounds so far and my doc says the baby is healthy and everything is fine.

Cindie - 124 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Don't worry about it K? I'm 25.5 weeks and have only put on a total of 7 1/2lbs. I did start this pregnancy at 5'8 177lbs but I'm tall so it doesn't look like I'm 184.5 now.. Just keep eating, take your vitamin's and make sure you eat plenty of veggies and fruits. You can also try protein drinks and Ensure type drinks 1-2X a day between meals for a boost. my dr. isn't even worried about my weight because the baby is growing FINE. I've also had morning sickness since about 6 weeks.. And STILL have it. (i threw up last night and this morning)

Mommy2twogreatkids - 124 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Try not to stress because most women think te baby only eats when you eat but infact the baby will take what it needs from your body before you get anything s as lng as you are eating healthy I would not worry. You can however add more items rich in protien and lean items to build up but not get FAT. Try a silken tofu smoothie with fruit and a little juice! Try makeing this stuff my cousin told me about with chx mix, Peanut Butter, a little powdered sugar and some nuts it is called Dog Chow!!! Just some fun ideas.

WOW, I havent gained a pound either, my doctor said she was fine with it but after week 20 she would like to see something. My girlfriend lost alot of weight due to morning sickness and then she was underweight, so they made her gain 5lbs (b/c she was underweight) and they told her milkshakes and ice cream at night...or drinking milk (she drank strawberry). I just know my OB said as long as I was eating well...she was ok, and that we'd rediscuss at week 20. Don't stress it too much sweetie! you look great!
