Thats how you do that not a big baby shower. Its called a "Baby Sprinkle" just a few gifts like diapers, t-shirts, lotion, etc.

I just saw that you mentioned though that it's not a full shower, just some friends. With a shower (and perhaps with whatever you're throwing), the host is not traditionally required to give an additional gift - hosting/paying for the party itself is enough. I do make a number of things, but will say that making a gift is not necessarily cheaper than buying a gift! You could find an adorable baby outfit on sale for less that $10 (or less that $5 sometimes!), but knitting something with nice yarn will cost more, and take more time. If you specifically want something to be somewhat handmade, you could but a pack of plain undecorated onesies, and then sew, embroider, and dye each of them differently (I've done this - you can use coffee or tea to dye an 'antiqued' colour for an inexpensive option).

mzblondex - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my bfs sister told us the other day an idea that i think would definitely benefit her. you could throw her a diaper shower. everyone that comes just brings a pack or two of diapers. bc one they are pretty expensive an two you run out QUICK! i agree with someone below as for the food, just go out to dinner an everyone chip in on her meal. an then go back to the house to give the diapers an for a dessert like cake or icecream or something! or you could just make your own finger sandwiches && have chips an dip with sodas at the house for the shower an just give her the diapers then. an as far as clothes go, if ppl wanted, diapers an maybe a unisex outfit. outfits can be kinda cheap at like walmart or something! goodluck an have fun! I bet with one baby here and another on the way, she could use a break. Even if she saves it for after baby #2 is here, she would still probably need the break.

corrin - 1351 days ago its not a full on shower just a couple friends.....she will need some stuff not all..a few outfits and stuff like that and if its a girl she will need clothes...

Cindie - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can also do cheap gift packs of baby clothes and products (baby oil, bath stuff..) for relatively cheap, like $20 or so.

athome - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) How about a floor quilt, if you can sew, You make a patchwork style quilt but fill a few of the pockets with tactile things and sew them closed so bubs cant get into them. Things like clean empty chip packets make wonderful crinkly noises, dried lavender feels like sand but also releases relaxing fragrance when crushed or rolled on, a fake fur patch to run his/her fingers through etc. You can be as imaginative as you like but stick to just a few squares so as not to over stimulate bubs. This is really useful for taking to other peoples houses, the park or just to protect the carpet at home. Another great idea is a baby sling they are easy to make and you can get patterns off the internet you dont even need to be able to sew !! In answer to the first ladies questions re why another shower it may be because her first bub only being 8 months is still using the crib, bouncer etc. Im not sure Ive never had a baby shower and Im up to bub number 3.

moms the word - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Do you crochet or knit? I usually make handmade booties and hats for all my friends when they are pregnant. They all have come to look forward to getting it when they are pregnant. You could always make one of those polar fleece blankets that you tie knots around the edges so it is really easy and no sew. Check the remnants bin at your local fabric store. You can often find pieces that are large enough for a baby blanket for a cheaper price. I have even used two different ones and made a double sided blanket that is thicker for winter. I also like to buy and inexpensive basket and fill it with bath products like baby shampoo and baby lotions and maybe some baby washcloths or a hooded towel. Hope this helps!

ashleym - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Well, I am not sure about gifts so much but wanted to tell you about a game they played at a friends shower. Everyone drew a number that was at the shower and say someone drew 10 they wrote the baby a letter to be opened on her tenth brithday. It was so cool. I wrote her a letter for her 25th. Wouldn't that be great to have your child open a letter every brithday for that long? Anyway, just a thought that was sweet.

Mindieswan - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can always just do a little luncheon with some friends.. everyone pays for themselves, but you cover her meal. Tell everyone to buy something fairly cheap or make something crafty... She does not need to much, i'm sure

brittany1621 - 1351 days ago Rating: 3 (1 votes) Since she already most likely has a bassinet, crib, swing, bouncer, toys etc., I would do something with lots of diapers and wipes, since she is going to be needing lots and lots of those in a new size (newborn). Are you going to throw her another shower or just make her some cool gifts?

masha - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i %100 agree. she does not need another baby shower. i had my kids 18 month apart, and didnt have a second shower. nor did i need one.

Julianna - 1351 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Okay, I have to ask...Why would you give another shower when her other child is only 8 months old? I can see if htere are several years inbetween, but Baby showers are kind of to get parents "set up" for having children. I would wait until the child is born and just give a gift then.
