Has anyone got any advise on concieving when you have realy irregular periods. I wanted to do the ovulation calendar but then woundered if it would be accurate or not? I had twins 8 years ago but fell by accident, this whole trying for a baby is much more stressful than I ever imagined it would be.

ME* - 128 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ME PERSONALLY I HAVE ONE IF THE STRANGEST CYCLES KNOWN TO MAN MY CYCLE CAME EVERY 18 DAYS EXCEPT THE WEEK I GOT PREGNANT IT CAME IN 17 THEN EVERY APRIL IT GIVES ME AN EXTRA WEEK OFF THEN COMES ON MY ADVICE TO YOU S LEAVE IT IN GODS HANDS DON'T STRESS YOUR SELF BUT A GOOD CALENDAR THAT KINDA WORKED FOR ME WEAS THE PREGNANCY CALCULATOR AT AMERICAN ASSOCATION OF PREGNANCY IF THAT HELPS

Rebekahs-mama - 128 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My periods were really irregular, too. So when I wanted to conceive I started charting my temps, cervical position and cervical fluid. It worked in 1 month! So I definitely think it's worth a shot. I used fertilityfriend.com to track everything for me. It calculated exactly when I ovulated and when I found out I was pregnant I already new my exact due date. So you might check it out!

SarahSeryi - 128 days ago Thank you for your answer's they are realy helpful to add to my original question my periods range from 16 to 35 days apart and I'm on for 5-7 days

Mrs.M.H. - 128 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) I agree with this previous answer but I can also say that I had very irregular periods before I conceived too. I checked with my doc regularly to see if there was any good reason for it. We did blood testing and tracked my cycle but both times that I got prego (first m/c) it wasn't on a "regular" time able period. Mine cycles would rang from 10 to 45 days, and some times my period would last as long as a month! My doc tried things to help level it out and they didn't work, they checked for hormonal imbalances and nothing wrong there either. She thought that I might be anovulatory and not ovulating like I should, but couldn't confirm it. I can give you some hope though, this time and last and with my daughter I conceived when I didn't expect to at all. I just had regular sex every second or third day (that I could) and hoped for the best. This time it was when my periods were really close together. Only 11 days apart. Yet the baby's dates are all confirmed, by ultra sound last Friday. So, good luck and hope you have some luck soon!

MelissaJoanne - 128 days ago Rating: 5 (1 votes) An ovulation calendar would not necessarily be accurate, but you could still try tracking your fertility signs (especially cervical fluid) to figure out when you ovulate. If you often have a longer cycle, you're not ovulating as often as someone with a 28 day cycle. The only consistent thing is that you'll still likely have a period 14 days after ovulation. You could also try charting your cycle to see if there is any sort of consistency (like, you cycle falls between 35-40 days, and varies within that). If there is consistency, that would give you a window of when you'll likely ovulate. If you have shorter cycles, you will ovulate sooner than 14 days after the start of your period (and if you have longer cycles,it will be longer than 14 days after he start of your period). Within the week or two that you suspect ovulation, have sex every other day. That will ensure that your egg has potential to be fertilized. When you get your period, count back 14 days to find out when you did ovulate (and if you do conceive, you'll have a better idea of when it was!). Good luck!!!!
