Choosing a Job

Should I continue to teach (and be away from my daughter for up to 9 hours every day, only to return home stressed and needing to lesson plan) or tutor one-on-one (which keeps me away from her for a maximum of 6 hours but she wouldn`t need childcare because I could work my tutoring hours around my husband`s schedule)? I`d take a small paycut if I tutored, but not much.

kater - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) can you not teach part time? if you tutored, you wouldn't get to see your husband. my hubby and i tried this, me working when he wasn't, but we couldn't make it work, we NEEDED family time and couple time, rather that just be on constant rounds of babysitting duties.

eastern-Canadian-Lady - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) What does hubby say? sounds like you know what is best for you. It sounds better for your baby too. If you leave your teaching job and the tutoring doesn't work out wwell for you, would you be able to go back to teaching? Nobody wants to leave the baby. I wouldn't.

MelissaJoanne - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It sounds from the wording of your question like you already know what you'd like to do. Clearly you wouldn't chose the option that leaves you stressed and needing to lesson plan, and which keeps you away from your daughter for longer hours. Tutor. You can always go back to teaching if you miss it, or once your child(ren) are older and it would fit into your life better.
