so how many weeks do i have to be to get the rhogam shot? my blood type is O-

littlecavalier - 121 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) What is your husbands blood type? I thought that if the mother and father were rh negative (meaning a-, b-, ab-, o-, the negative is your rh factor, not sure what the other comments mean, rh is definitely not a blood type) then you don't need the shots because your baby will also be rh-. Do you know what your husbands blood type is?

KittenAsACat - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) actually, in response to moms_the_word, mine blood type is O- and i did require a rhogam shot at 28 weeks. depending on what the baby's blood type turns out to be, i may need one after birth.

juliealisesmommy - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i got one b4 and after the baby, it worried the hell outta me at first but its all good

kelly-roo - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you get it at 28 weeks. my hub and I both are rh-

Katiebug - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my first pregnancy I had a shot at 28 weeks. After my baby was born they tested his blood type, and because it came back O- aswell, I didn't have to have the second shot. If his blood type had not been (-) then I would have had to have the follow up shot. Hope that makes sense and helps!

Mrs.M.H. - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Like I said my girl friend has had two and she's 33 weeks now. and had the second a week or two ago. She had her first one a month or so before that. Oh, and congrats you are what they call a universal donor! The only thing you have be careful of is the fact that you can only receive 0-. See me I'm next in line with 0+ and can donate to anyone except you, and you can donate to me, you, or anyone and A and B types can donate to A and B types=) Good to know! Check these out! http://chapters.redcross.org/br/northernohio/INFO/bloodtype.html http://anthro.palomar.edu/blood/Rh_system.htm

KarenVG - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yeah you do need a rhogam shot and it is between 28weeks and 32 weeks. So double check with your doctor at the closest visit to 28 weeks.

uhmanduh - 122 days ago ok thanks. i thought rh wasnt a blood type. im so confused my doctor never got back to me with this info.

mcbender3 - 122 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You only get the rhogam shot if you are RH- not if your blood type is -. It's usually given at 28 weeks.
