I should know what a newborn should wear home but with my son it was snowy out when i brought him home so we bundled him up but with my daughter the temp. should be around 80 or 85 degrees and im unsure how to dress her. My MIL says to dress her warm but i don`t want her sweating either. I have a little dress for her, but I also packed her a little sleeper too.

Debra - 78 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) the nurses told us to dress a newborn baby in what ever you are wearing plus one layer. When they start to gain more body fat, they don't need all the swaddling or worry about heat loss. SO if its hot out and you are wearing shorts and tee shirt, then put her in a onsie or a dress and have a light receiving blanket wrapped around her and a light cotton hat on her head.

christina1984 - 78 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have been thinking about that too. my daughter will be born early August so it will be realy hot out. im packing onsies and a light blanket cuz hospitals are freezing and so is my house lol

acacia - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) what ever feels right my son due at the end of june and i packed him all onsies socks and a hat if nessary just and a reciecing blanket...its gonna be hot dress her for the wheather i think and as always what u want her to wear is up to u i think what u have its perfect if its a little more chilly then u think then put the sleepwe on if not the dress will do.

littlecavalier - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It all depends on if you have air conditioning or not. I wouldn't dress her warm necessarily though. If you want her to wear a dress then just bring a blanket and if her legs or arms feel cold you can cover her up. You'll be able to tell if she's chilly just by feeling her. I think it's great that you have both so in case it snows (hey, it seems to be happening all over lately) you'll have the sleeper :-).

agonzales - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would also dress her in a cute dress and have a receiving blanket.

corrin - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i would put her in a little dress or even just a cute little onsie...i def would not dress her warm if its going to be 80+ outside...

moms the word - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have always subscribed to the theory that the baby will be comfortable in clothing I would be comfortable in. With temps near 85 I would choose a cute little dress and a light blanket like a receiving blanket to sheild her from the sun. Just think of the oven like affect a big thick blanket over the carrier will give. It makes me short of breath just thinking about it. I think too many people keep their babies too hot for no good reason.

camilleldj28 - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yeah me too! I bought her a outfit its some little thin pants, it come with two t-shirts, bib, hat, and hand mits. And i'm going to put her on some soxes and thats it. I need one of those big blankets to go over the carrier. But I had that same problem so dress light.
