For those of you who are done with work for right now, what do you do with all of your free time? I am 31 weeks and I am having a lot of depression lately because I am always alone and incredibly bored. I`ve already fixed my babies room up, had my baby shower, & organized everything. There isn`t anymore shopping to be done for him. I just don`t know what to do! I have read books, but I can`t do that all day long. Has anyone else gone through this and found a solution?

If you have Netflix you might try incorporating prenatal pilates or prenatal yoga into your day -- I watched them instantly on my computer ($5.00/month). You could prepare large batches of food to be frozen for after Baby arrives. I also tried to teach myself some baby sign language like "toilet" and "milk." I find it helpful to create a schedule that way I know what to do with my time and when... for instance I clean the house between 10:00 a.m. and Noon. I try to teach myself Spanish, respond to email, exercise, etc between 8:00 a.m and 10:00 a.m. I hope that helps.

I feel the same way you do. I have two other children to look after (6 and 4) and also find myself bored. The 6yr old is in school full time, and the 4 year old is in school every other day but even when they home i am still bored cause this far in my pregnancy the last thing i have is energy to play with them and make meals etc.., I am 35 weeks pregnant and i spend most of my days watching t.v, and going on the computer. I am constantly reading parenting stuff, and surfing baby websites. www.babycenter.com is great. If you click on pregnancy they will give you a whole bunch of topics and things you can look up and read about. I also go on this website and look at peoples nursery rooms for ideas and just to get excited lol. You could also start scrap booking and if you havent already try and backtrack your pregnancy and write down things you went through, or that you will want to remember. If this is your first child you could go to www.youtube.com and watch videos on caring for babies and newborns. If you type in newborn "how to" videos they will have some videos that might help. You could also spoil yourself and go to cheap store like walmart and buy facial masks, and nice lotions and just pamper yourself. You could also buy yoga videos at walmart, zellers, etc.., if you dont have the money or dont feel comfortable and just do them at home by yourself when no one is watching lol. Hope this helps =)

Try taking up a new hobby. Learn to crochet or knit. Do some watercolor painting. Take up scrapbooking, go for a walk in the park, spend some time online, take time to pamper yourself with a bubble bath or pedicure. Take some time to get a pregnancy massage if you can. You'll be glad you took the time for yourself when the baby gets here and he takes up all your time. Good luck and just think, only 9 weeks or so to go. Hang in there!

My b/f has TONS of dvds and seasons of shows so right now I am killing time by watching those. I also spend a lot of time online. Then again, this is only my first week on maternity leave. I am honestly worried about how crazy I am going to go in the upcoming weeks...its a good thing that there is ALWAYS something to be done.

If you are healthy enough to do this and are not having a delicate pregnancy, have you thought about joining a prenatal yoga class? this will help you meet other new moms and talk, maybe socialize a bit before baby comes. I started doing this after the baby came (mommy and me yoga) and wish I had gone before hand as well. Many community centers offer classes as well (well, they do here in Vancouver anyways). Try scrapbooking your pregnancy or making a baby album. Its hard to get that done. Get out a slow cooker and put some meals together- putting them in the freezer for after baby comes. Its hard to get motivated to cook when you are recovering from birth- and a freezer full of food is very satisfying! Empty toilet paper rolls are fine and dandy until they get ripped to shreds and eaten. The jars are a good idea though.

After you have scrubbed your house from top to bottom, I would next recommend creating a baby book if you have kept a record of things that have happened during your pregnancy. I have kept a record since we found out, so I have lots of entries, and I'm going to create a pregnancy record book with pictures and entries. Also, I've read articles from the Internet about parenting and about different things, for which I've also created a handy manual for parenting for me. I just put the information into a binder and divide it into catergories, such as health, development, fun, etc. I've also been collecting things like empty paper towel rolls, empty medicine jars, etc. for use as toys. I'll fill those jars with different things, like rocks, grass, etc. so that Thumper can shake them and roll them. I can paint pictures on the empty rolls and Thumper can hit the dogs or self with it or just hold them. Just getting a variety of textured materials together for Thumper to feel and maybe mounting them on different things so that Thumper can handle these textures. I work on these types of things while I'm at work when I have nothing to do.

I planned to give up work a month before my due date but I have got SPD which effects my mobility due to the pain and have to have fragmin injections each day to prevent any blood clots so I have been at home since I was 23 weeks pregnant. I have worked since I was 16 and have found the whole experience really depressing as I'm used to working 10-12 hours a day. I have looked into doing a law degree from home but they don't start until September. I have always wanted to write a book so decided there is no time like the present, even if I don't get it published at least I have done it. Keep your chin up X
