Since I had my first son 2 years ago, I have had abnormal paps, coloscopys and biopsys. They always have shown low grade cells. This time they showed positive for HPV and high risk cells. My MIL is telling me they will do a hysterectomy. She said I should try to have another baby before they do since I wanted 4-5 kids. Just wondering if this has ever happened to any of you or someone you know. Any input would be great. Thanks

Trishey - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have had high risk cells and HPV. Mine has went into remission and now have a normal cervix. Hysterectomy is a last resort when it turns to cancer. They would do a leep or something else fisrt. Right now they may just watch it that is what they did with me. If you have any questions about it call your doc they would be able to tell you better than your MIL

luckywhite - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they will not do a hystorectomy if you have HPV on your cervix.. they will laser the effected cells off!!! hysterectomy is a last resort!! ive had a few friends with high risk cervix problems and over the years the most treatment is the laser.. mabies in the dark ages they would have thought that was the treatment but not in 2008!!!! you poor soul you must have got the fright of your life whne she said that!!!
