Depending on the temp of where u live; Some front opening nighties for quick easy access for night feeds, soft/ comfy material, get a couple 'cause bubs can often be sick, or poop on them (usually after you've just washed it!). (I found nighties more comfy as had an emergency C-section, PJs just irritate my scar!). You might need a breast pump (manual or electric if you'r breasts get too engorged sometimes helps.. but to be honest don't make big purchases (re: breastpump, sterilisers) just wait & see how it goes, 'cause u might not use them. re: nipple cream I used 'mebo' it was wonderful (it's herbal/ natural & safe for babe) don't know if they sell it in the US though. All the best.

Some people find it a help. I found it too sticky/thick, so when I really could have used it, it hurt too much to apply. Very often, the hospital gives you a free sample in a maternity gift pack. It's about 1/2 ounce, and I do think it's all you would need, even though you can buy a 4 oz tube at the store.$$
