I started around 25 weeks, I wouldn't buy too many clothes b/c I got so so so many at my shower if you do buy larger sizes. Start buying the gear and nursery furniture. Travel systems, swings, etc. If you're not having a shower I would start for sure. If you start now you will not have to hurry in the last month! It gets expensive and starting now will make it easier to budget out, good luck and have fun because shopping is one of the funnest parts of bein preggo xoxo

Don't buy too much! You'll get TONS of stuff at your shower like blankets, layettes, onesies, etc. Try to resist the urge to buy a lot of 0-3 months because that's what everyone will buy for you. Save your money for the nursery furniture and big things you are unlikely to get from a shower! Other than that, if you want to buy baby something, go buy baby something!!!

FYI--My son was born 6 weeks early and I had NOTHING for him! So don't wait too long either-just in case:) LOL

i started at 8 weeks, to buy the big theings like a tall boy and paint for the nursery, the monitor and other stuff.
if you know or are planning to find out the sex, id start buying some clothes and stuff now.
the midwives that i see recomend that you have everything you need and the nursery set up by 30 weeks, cause the last leg of the pregnancy can be so tiering and you might not want to go out shopping and decorate and stuff after that point.
but its up to you, just do it when you feel the time is right ^_^

Im only 5 weeks, and I have bought a few things when they were on sale (sleepers and receiving blankets). I think extending it over the pregnancy will help with the financial burden of buying big ticket items.

My co-workers just gave me a baby shower last weekend at 21 weeks (I am moving in a month though). I pretty much have everythig I need from the last baby, but I started buying her stuff at 4 months. It was easier on the budget to spread the high ticket items over months instead of all at the end.

Im in my 25th week and Ive already bought quite a few things. Clothes, diaper bag, blanket, shoes and a bassinet. I already had the crib and swing. I think you should be good especially if you already know what you're having.

I would say that you could start buying a few things here and there. Certainly you're not in a rush to do it now, I liked buying a little at a time. It's a little easier on the wallet to do it like that too, rather than all at once, especially if you don't have a seperate "baby" fund. I would wait on formula, if you choose to formula feed right away, since it could expire. Have fun shopping!
