Just had a membrane sweep today (ouchie....i wouldn`t recommend to anyone) I was bleeding a lot at first, now just brown/red discharge/mucous (i think it may be my `bloody show`) Just wondering if anyone else had a sweep, and if it was successful, and anything you could tell me about it would be great!! thanks!! :)

kbushby - 65 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had it done. and my son was here four days later. it was a little uncomfortable. it made me loose my mucus plug. but it didnt all fall out at once. and i started a bloody show... so hopefully you will be having your baby soon!!

blessedmom - 65 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had it done and it worked well. Mine didnt hurt, Im sorry to hear that yours did.I would have sex that really helped to keep thing going with me. Take a long walk and try to sit backward on the toilet, I know it might sound weird but it puts the baby head right on your cervix which make you dilate faster. I hope this help!!!

moms the word - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had one at 7 days overdue with my daughter and it did absolutely nothing for me. However, I did not have my "bloody show" after it either just some mild bleeding for a day or so. I ended up being induced 5 days later cause my feet were getting swollen. It was my first baby and I was told they don't like to induce first time mommies so that is why they waited till the swelling showed up to induce me. Good luck and hang in there!

JennSever - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes i did have the sweep done with my last baby - was painful and brought on contractions. i went home and sat in the bathtub w/ my two other children ages 2 & 4 looking on in wonder. i began contracting pretty regularly about 1-2 after the sweep. the bathtub was the only place that brought me a little comfort. after gettting cold and rather pruney..i called my husband at work and said we should probably go to the hospt - good move as when i got there and settled (3 hrs after sweep) i was dilated to 6-7! baby was born 6 hrs after sweep. i am hoping my dr will sweep with this baby as well - i am 37 wks tomorrow...
