Did you practice your kegels? Did it help with labor and delivery?

gr8scottswife - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I do kegels nearly every day, and I don't know about labor and delivery, but I know I'm not peeing on myself. Anyway, it helps for your whole life. Women who have had children are susceptible to having to wear diapers at age 50 because of the lax muscles. My mother is one. I believe it's like any muscle that goes flabby. If it isn't worked out, it uses its ability to function properly. Those muscles are for making us retain and let go of urine and poo.

nich-vegas-mommy2be - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I haven't had my baby yet, but a friend of mine said she did her kegels and didn't tear at all - she attributes it to the kegels. Not sure if it would really make a difference or not, but it's always good to do them since it will help with continence after the birth.

jaydsmom - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with JennSever. Kegels help me control my pee after the birth. Its awful to constantly wear liners because every little sneeze or laugh or whatever causes you to pee a bit. So yes, start doing them now, but expect the benefits after baby comes.

JennSever - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i do kegels all the time..what it really helps with is after delivery. being able to sneeze or cough without peeing on yourself. doing kegels did not help me with labor. being patient and calm did. kegels also helps with sex after birth.

Debra - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) No... well sometimes if i remembered. I tried doing it after. It didn't help with labor. Reading Ina May's book- 'Ina May's Guide to pregnancy' Is what really helped me in labor (and go through it naturally- until that is my baby ended up breech and i ended up in surgery... but anyways!) I wish i had done more yoga though and kept my core strength. See my VIP page for more.
