this is my 5th baby and he just won`t sleep!!!whether in my bed or not!heeeelp!!

supernatural5 - 102 days ago you think i should know that but they are all different and it is hard to get into a routine when 7 of us live in a 2 bedroom home and the room we share with the baby has a door which doesn't close!!not the best situation which is probably why i struggle with a routine.also we have to stagger the others bedtimes.the 2 yr old and 3 yr old got to bed by 7.30 then the 8 yr old and 10yr old go at 8.30.i had a look on a few web sites and have started having a bit of luck so hopefully this will progress into fully getting to sleep on his own. thanks to all who have left comments so far it is very comforting as it has gone on for nearly 7 months of him waking up to 10 times a night!!

Debra - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have tips on my VIP site.

agonzales - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My first daughter was the same way. The only way she would sleep is if I put her in her swing. One of my nieces wouldnt sleep unless she was in her carseat like Jaydsmom said.

jen - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think a routine helps out a lot. Every night around 7 my son gets his bath, we take him into his room and dress him in his pj's in his crib, go into the living room for his last bottle of the day...and a bit of veggies since he's old enough....and then we take him in his room and put him in his bed to go to sleep. If he fusses we just go in and pat his butt for a bit and he falls right to sleep. This didn't happen overnight, you have to keep up with it consistantly. And it may not hurt to up the amount of his bottle an extra ounce at bed time. A fuller tummy usually means a longer time sleeping. At 5 months old my son only recently started sleeping thru the night, and even last night he woke up once. It's just a work in progress.....after 5 kids you should know that! =)

kamilah1 - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) warm milk, soothing music, and a routine can work as well

riknlee - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) A very good friend of mine used to work at a sleep centre and she told me yesterday that the order should be sleep, feed, play. I dont know how old he is but apparently a helium balloon tied somewhere in the room makes them feel that someone is there. also a radio in between stations is helpful.

jaydsmom - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the same problem with my daughter. The only place I could get her to sleep for longer than an hour was in her infant car seat. I talk to her pediatritian and he told me that as long as it was on the floor and not up on a bed or table, there was no reason she couldn't sleep in there. I guess the slight incline of the seat helped her sleep better. Also, I just bought a bassinette at babies-r-us for my next baby that has white background noise and a vibration setting to soothe the baby... maybe that will help (it was in the section under nursery - not bassinettes).
