My mother said all three of her kids where small. i was 4lbs something oz, sister was 5lb and brother was 6lb. Do you think that my baby will be small to or does it not even matter how much all of her kids weighed?

Allioop - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I weighed more when I was born than both my kids so far. I'm 5'6" and my husband is 6' so I don't really know what the deal is there! I do think if you've had a larger than normal or smaller than normal baby you will probably have the same again, but I'm not sure about family genetics playing a role, unless there is some reason why baby's growth is restricted. I wouldn't put too much stock in how big your mom's baby's were! Baby's come in all shapes and sizes and it looks like you turned out just fine at 4lbs!

princessvjc - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had to have some extra scans cuz my lil one was comin up small on her scans and both my midwife and hospital said she could take after my dad cuz he was small and my boyfriend cuz he was small...but i think its down to the baby lol!!!good luck.xx

Its-Chelle - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it wont matter...she had small babies, doesnt mean you will.but you could kind of guess by how tall you and father of baby are..i had 2 that were 6 lbs, and 7 lber..im short and their dad was a few inches taller than me..then my 4th with new hubby was over 8 lbs..hubby is way taller than me..and it can depend if you go full term, or early, how much time the baby has to grow..

RobinG - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I dont think it matters ~ there is way to much at play to know ~ moms diet, genetics, gestation, health of the baby, moms habits back then compared to now (my mom and MIL all smoked cause back in the 60's that was normal) way to much can effect the baby to know for sure what your baby will be ~ My sisters and I were all in the 6 lbs range and hubby and his bros were also in the 6 lbs range my boys were between 8 & 10 lbs ~

Spike - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sometimes yes sometimes no, my mother was 3pound 6 ounce born, i was 4 pound, my bro was 8 pound something, then my sis was 4 pound something. my son was 7pound 7 ounces and 4 weeks early, but midwives tell me that my daughter will be small like mum, jamii and me... as i havnt had her yet cant realy comment on that bit but i think it has more to do with how you are in pregnancy (mum was stressed and sick with jammi and me, but well and relaxed with jakob and he turned out the biggest) best way to get an educated guess is to get a ultrasound done at around 36 weeks they can give you an estimate of the babys weight that way so you know what to expect, i had it done and it was almost exactly right for me.

itsaboy! - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it depends on the father too...sometimes it doesnt even have to do with either parent...i was 6 lbs when i was born and my first daughter was 6 lbs 13 oz, my second daughter was 6 lbs 5 oz...i just had my third (a boy) one month ago and i thought for sure he wouldnt be more than 6 lbs something...main reason was because i was VERY tiny with this pregnancy (belly wise), and didnt gain much weight at all throughout my pregnancy..to my surprise they put him on the scale when he was born and he weighed 8 lbs 6 oz! lol...my midwife was also very shocked because of how small my belly was...long story short...you cant possibly know till your baby is born.

Canuck - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i know i was 6lbs 8oz my sister was 6lbs 2oz and my boyfriend was 6 pounds 4oz and my baby came out a day late and 7 15..i thought for sure i would have a small one but aparently not :P
