Hi all, just a general question. If you have a husband/partner, how long will he/she ( Im sooo politically correct!) be taking off work. Are you expecting a vaginal or caesarian birth? Thanks in advance:)

Spike - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) as my husband is in the navy there is no garentee that he will be here for the birth or to take leave, but if he is (oh god i hope he is) they will allow him to take 4 weeks off as his holiday leave. i was hoping for more, but at least he will get some time to spend with us

dawnispregz - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) In the Uk the partner can only have 2 weeks paternity at reduced wage, not sure about the USA rulings to be honest, But we are really lucky as my bloke has been with his company for years and they have put in internet at our house and paid for it-inc phone line and cable tv(for as long as we are in the house for) so he can work from home for 2 months! How cool is that! Its only because for the two weeks they cant do without him as theres only him in the office that can do is job, but its still pretty sweet nevertheless! x

RobinG - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It really depends ~ I read here in some countries some who take alot of leave etc etc. My hubby took the day I delivered off the day, he worked short days while I was in the hospital and off the day I came home as well as the following week. I then had family come stay with me for a week :) He did the same for all three kids ~ had both sections and vbac ~

carmendayle - 104 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm not exactly sure for were your located, but I know in some states, the partner can also get family medical leave and that can be up to 12 months but no pay. It depends on were they work in how many days they may give off paid if any at all. This is only what I've learned by looking into it myself. My hubby will not be getting paid for his leave, and will only take a few days off, like 3 or 4. I don't think they usually give a hard time if it's only a bit of time though?? Just depends. SOrry not more informal, but I hope it helps some.
