Which is the lesser of the 2 evils? Regular soda, or diet soda? I try not to drink very much of it but dang it sometimes a good soda sounds soooo yummy!!

Debra - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) caffeine free and avoid diet as it contains aspertaime.

lv2bamommy - 102 days ago Wow! Thanks for so many responses!!! I guess I will go with regular when I need to have it. But I am going to try the seltzer water and juice!! Sounds yummy! I love this Q&A section!!!

tarasblessing - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I read that diet soda has more caffeine than regular soda.

2b - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) regular in small quantities and preferably caffine free

jessicanewmom2be - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) diet soda contains aspertame which is not a good thing to have when ur pregnant I found that they have this pop called fanta its the blue rasberry but its pretty good I used to be addicted to coca cola but havent had a full one since I have been pregnant caffeine is a not soo good thing

agonzales - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Regular soda wont hurt as long as you dont drink it all the time. Just drink caffeine free sodas. I have to drink diet if I drink a soda because of the gestational diabetes.

moms the word - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Having one regualar soda per day is not gonna hurt. Diet sodas are not good for you cause of the artificial sweeteners. It is not the sugar that is the problem unless you are diabetic. It is the caffeine. Try decaf soda it really doesn't taste any different. Also sodium levels are of concern especially if you have or are prone to high blood pressure. Just make sure you are still getting plenty of water.

Spike - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) diet is worse than regular, its the artificial sugar in the diet that they are not 100% sure is safe in pregnancy (or anytime for that matter) id go with the regular, its not that good for you either but a little occasionaly is ok, i just dont like the thought of drinking artificial chemicals, id rather have real sugar, at least that is kinda natural....kinda ^_^

dossfirstchild - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've read that newer studies are saying that drinking soda and coffee dont really effect the baby...dont know how true that is ( I personally dont drink either) But thought it would make you feel better to know... :D

spencerbaby1 - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my best friend is diabetic and can only drink diet sodas. her baby turned out healthy and almost 8 pounds. the light coloured drinks have no caffiene (except some mountain dew). so i don't know but i suggest drinking the caffiene free kind of whatever you choose. caffiene does affect the baby somewhat- my best friend drank a medium coffee before her ultrasound and her baby was jumpin all over the place

mariettap - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Could try something new: Mix soda water (seltzer) with fruit juice. My favorite is half seltzer and half cranberry, with a twist of lime.

luvnthebelly - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Apparently aspertame and artificial sweetners are worse for the baby than the caffiene and sugar in regular soda, my doc told me if i was going to drink it to try to drink the clear or light coloured drinks (ie: sprite, gingerale) because they had less of the sugar and caffiene.

brandyg - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) regular is what my OB told me to drink, because the fake sugar is worse for baby than the real sugar...

summerisis - 103 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hmm... That's a good question! I drank Diet Coke.
