i work in a place cleaning..its extrememly hot, requires alot of bending over and carrying things..standing for long periods..its getting harder the bigger i get. do u think that its safe or should i find a job that requires less `work`? some ppl have told me that its good 4me and will keep me in shape but im not sure...

Debra - 65 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if you feel light headed or dizzy, then its time to find another job. At this point, its ok unless you are feeling it already. Otherwise, you shouldn't have a problem until you get larger. I was pretty good with lifting and being on my feet all day (I'm an RN) until i hit about 28 weeks or so. I also got dehydrated more at work as I didn't have time to go to the bathroom all day long the further along i was and so would get more BH contractions at work. Towards the end, my colleagues took pity on me and gave me assignments close to the nursing station or charge nurse duty.

aulrobbri - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I waited tables until the day I wet into labor. Just listen to your body. If you are used to it, you should be ok. Just don't lift too much

skittles0607 - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was a nurses aide also. I worked 16 hour shifts. When I started getting bigger I had to take a few breaks but I worked all the way to my due date. I was on the schedule to go to work the day I had the baby. They say as long as you have been doing this before you got pregnant its ok. Just listen to your body. if you are start feeling weird sit down and get some water and also walk outside for some fresh air.

2b - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I also work a very physical job as a nurses aide. I am on my feet all night and so a lot of bending, lifting, twisting, ect. A few times I felt I was "hurting" myself but I didn't. It worries me also but I don't think we would easily find another job being preggers...

Allioop - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Always ask your Dr. As for the chemicals, as long as you take precautions (like work in well ventilated areas, use gloves when using harsh chemicals, etc) it *should* be okay. It really all depends on your pregnancy. If your pregnancy is healthy then your Dr. may say it's okay to continue. The heat would be my biggest concern as it is so easy to over heat and get dehydrated. So if you do stay or at least while you are there now, make sure to drink lots and lots of fluids to keep your body temp from rising too much and to stay hydrated.

summerisis - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think you should stick with it. Your body will let you know when it's time to quit. (I didn't think about chemicals.) No, chemicals aren't good but the activity is.

bigmuma - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) No i dont think its good for you when your pregnant at any time. I have just finished my job where i ran 7 staff cleaning business and with the chemicals you use not to mention the heavy duty work you do its not the best thing for you to be doing. If i had a girl that wass pregnant working for me i would seriously try to find something else for them to do besides cleaning. Maybe get some help so you can do the light jobs and they could do the heavier things??

jessicanewmom2be - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if u think its too much for your body than u will have to move on but really only u can be the judge of that also hot envirnments arnt all that good for pregnant woman they say try to keep cool when ur hot u could possibly have fainting spells or something like that good luck to ya

moms the word - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Stay hydrated, try to take frequent breaks to keep swelling down and stay away from strong smelling chemicals that may be in some of the cleaning agents you are using. If you start to feel dizzy or overly hot, then perhaps you should consider a job change. Your body will tell you when it is time to stop and try something else.

harpchick - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's really important that in hot environments that you stay hydrated. Dehydration is usually the biggest problem. Sit down and put your feet up when you can to keep your ankles from puffing too much, and pay attention to your body. If you're hurting or experiencing contractions, then you're overdoing. And be sure to check with your doctor-- (s)he's the only one who knows your particular health situation. I do a lot of heavy lifting with my job, and spent a lot of the summer working outside in the heat, but as long as I use common sense I can keep working. (With this particular pregnancy I can't lift anymore as I have an amniotic fluid leak, but in other pregnancies I did heavy lifting right up till a few weeks before delivery.)

Spike - 66 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) as long as your not exahsted by the end of it all, and you dont get bad cramps or pains in the muscles you use and you are in good health with no high blood presure or anything you should be fine to continue till week 30 at the absolute lastest. if you feel like its becoming too much of a strain then stop and find something easier to do. but after week 30 you should not be standing for long periods, constantly bending and being in a hot enviroment as thease things can trigger a premature birth.
