12 weeks and doctor told me the sex is it possible?

I am a little over 12 weeks and at my appt, my doctor told me he was 80 percent positive that i was having a girl! Has this happened to anyone and were the results correct. They also told my friend and the doctor was right.

I had a ultrasound at almost 13 weeks and we asked if she could tell what i was having but she said she couldnt say that early because they dont want to tell us the wrong thing. and then at just over 20 weeks we found out im having a girl. I have a picture of it too so im hoping she comes out a girl lol. Cuz i got everything pink.

SRHMKP - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i wouldnt believe the doc until u get a pic of the baby's parts either way. we were trying for a boy this time and the doc told me vey early on he thought we were having a girl but i didnt believe him till i saw the pic stating that,not because we didnt want a girl but just to be sure. there has been alot of people i come in contact with that say they were told 1 sex and ended up having the other,so i suggest that on the next scan u make sure they can give u a pic showing the sex of the baby.if u go to my pics u can see the pic that shows my little girl is a girl.

jessicadarling - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) From what I have heard, if they can tell it is a boy that early they are usually correct. But if they see nothing that early then there is still a 50-50 chance of it being either. So I wouldn't buy pink just yet. Wait until your 20 week scan

HaleyD - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My brother and his girlfriend found out at 12 weeks via ultrasound they were having a boy, and then at their 20 week ultrasound it was reconfirmed it was a boy.

RobinG - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My geneticist told me the protein test can not tell gender only amnio is 100% accurate ~ the tech there who has been doing scans for 25 years told me that a good tech will not tell, even if they are sure, till at least 16-18 weeks because there is a risk of being wrong. Boy may not decend til 15 plus weeks so more room for error ~ I know two people who were told wrong. 80% accurate is not good enough IMO ~ ESP since it is either boy or girl 50/50 chance. If my doc told me I'd still have doubts til 16 plus weeks minimum ~ ((()))

agonzales - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) From what I read, an experienced tech can tell you at 12wks and be about 75-80% right. I think thats still to early to be sure and you should wait til a later scan unless you had an amnio like moms the word said.

moms the word - 102 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Did you have AFP (alpha feta protein)test done? Cause they can tell from that as well as amniocentesis. I have never heard of finding out that early before. But hey, that is just me.
