I am 6 weeks post delivery and have had a headache now for one week straight. Anyone have this or know why, or what I can do about them?

Sounds like a reaction to medication or anesthesia. Anesthesia from an epidural or a fully anesthesized c-section frequently affect women with severe and or prolonged headaches. There are some hefty painkillers you can get prescribed if you really struggle just with over the counter paracetamol, which won't interfer with breastfeeding. I'm sorry you're suffering in what should be a happy painfree time with your new babe.

If you are prone to headaches during PMS and early pregnancy, it is likely that you are experiencing headaches from your hormones trying to get back to normal after having a baby. Being pregnant is a HUGE change in a woman's body. I heard somewhere that during 9 months of pregnancy a woman's body will produce more chemicals during that time than during the whole life of a woman who is never pregnant!

Do you have a previous history of headaches or migraines?? I do and I had headaches the first 3 months of my pregnancy. I am worried I will get them after because I have a history. My doctor told me I might have issues after. I would talk to your doctor and see if they can give you anything. Let me know what you find out, i'm interested in knowing what they say.. Sorry i don't have an answer.

I've heard of girls getting long term headaches from the epidurals. You can likely find reprieve with caffeine and if it still doesn't go away, then they can do a spinal tap. or at least, that's what i've heard.
