Gestational Diabetes

I had Gestational Diabetes with my second baby and was able to keep it under control through a strict diet. I am pregnant with my third baby and I wanted to know my chances of having it again, is there anything I can do to prevent it, does it get better or worse with additional pregnancies?

kbushby - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had diabetes with my first pregnancy. didnt know about it till two weeks before i had him so that was a disaster. but with this pregnancy i got checked right away and i have it again! so the odds of you getting it again are pretty high..

ibaheir2dathrone - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had GD with 1st and 3rd preg. Insulin dependant both times. I Now have Type 2 Diabetes. It is common for women who had it in preg. to getdiabetes later on. (8 years later I have it)

monica9 - 101 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I know woman who have had GD with some kids and not with the others. it just depends. just make sure you are keeping up with a healthy diet. eating every couple of hours to keep your blood sugar steady, eating protein with your carbs to keep insulin levels steady and avoiding a lot of sugar and white carbohydrates. good luck!!
