I am down to 2 wks before she is due and our families hate the names we picked out. Please offer us your opinions. Thanks

professorpreggers - 99 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) OMG! It's your baby. Not theirs. They had their chance to name their own children. This is your turn now and don't let anybody spoil it for you. If you love the name and it feels right and speaks to who and what you and dad are all about, then family and friends can f off. Sorry, the presumption of family sometimes just makes me crazy. I refused to tell my family or in laws what the baby's name is for that very reason. Once your baby is here they will love her and whatever name you chose, even if they didn't like it at first, will grow on them. Please don't let inappropriately offered opinions ruin something as special as naming your own baby.

I feel so strongly about this subject because my Aunt and cousin both had problems with what I named my 2nd little girl. And I just felt like telling them to stick it.

kbushby - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) who cares what they think. its your baby and your decision. i want to name my baby aidan and my bf is not sure of it cuz some of his family members have kind of laughed about it. but i really could care less what they think. i wouldnt name my kid half the names they have. its different strokes for different folks!! when i was born my mom thought i was going to be a boy and when i ended up being a girl and she named me kylee my grandma hated it and said i would be made fun of. now look at the name, its everywhere!

RobinG - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) What they think doesnt matter ~ it is YOUR child, not theirs ~ they named THEIR kids and you will name YOURS ~ :)that is why so many dont even tell the family til the baby is born ~ if they dont like it to bad they will have to get used to it :) My family didnt all like Hunter either but we didnt care :) We did however care what our other children thought and they loved it so that was all that mattered :)

I don't think my family particularly likes the name we picked out either, they keep saying "no one will be able to spell it" but we don't care!

jaydsmom - 100 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think you should name her what YOU picked out. My mother hated my daughters name, and tried to bully me into changing it, but I didn't listen. Now she is used to it, so she never says anything to me anymore. Of course, I know I'm going to go through it with this baby too *sigh*... but again she will get over it. Your families will too.
