I was doing some reading online about it. We`ve always been told to start at 12 months and that is what I did with my older two. I was looking online some specifics and was surprised to see some countries say 9-12 months. Why is this? Is it safe or ok? I didnt plan to wean from formula til 12 months (Hunter is only 8 plus now) and plan to use organic but am now curious about what others plan to do ~ and why countries vary on this.. What is is where you live?

Spike - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my country says 9 months start things like yogurt and chease and ease your way up to giving strait cows milk by 12-15 months. if your baby has been fed soly on fomula from a very young age you can introduce milk earlier (closer to the 9 month mark) but solely breast fed babies may have trouble with the milk till after 12 months, every baby is different, if your baby gets diareoa, or tummy pains or wind then leave it a bit longer.

leahs - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think milk has slightly different ingredients in it in other countries. I'm in Canada and even when I go to the US the milk taste different. I always waited until 12mo to start my kids on it and they got homo milk. I didn't realize until I read the label how much salt is in any type of milk, babies little systems can't handle that much, but again it could be different in other countries.

thunders79 - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think we changed milk at around 11 months. x

RobinG - 96 days ago TX :) Didnt see any posts about water being the reason, they mentioned on various sites about the proteins being easier to digest after a year ~ just has me curious though ~ Oh yes ~ I DEF use organic milk. I am in upstate NY and it is sold in every store (WEgmans, Price Chopper, P&C BJ's etc etc... right next to the milk that has hormones in it ~ it is a couple dollars more but so worth it to me ~ I feed orangic baby food too ~ its only pennies more and healthier IMO ~

Tierra - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) for me i will be weaning at 12 months..... i think they might say that if they are using formula in other countries because the water might be bad? i dont know i think you should do what feels right...... and organic milk? i never knew you could get it organic........ where at?
