some start as early as 5 months and some dont start till they are closser to 12 months.
it is deffinatly normal for them to wriggle or camando their way around even froma very young age, he will probly be crawling closer to the five month mark. My son was lazy and didnt even atempt to crawl till he was 11 months old! he used to just roll around the floor to get whatever he wanted to get.

Babies are born with a crawling or creeping reflex. This will fade as they get older but explains how some babies are born and will creep their way up to their mom's breasts for food. Babies can begin crawling at any age, the average is about 6 months.

My daughter crawled at 5 months, my son not until 10 months. Baby's start mimicking crawling early on---and it sounds like he's doing pretty good at it! I used to love when my kids would rock back and forth on their hands and knees and their cute little butts would be wiggling back and forth! So cute! I have a friend who's baby was walking at 8 months-CRAZY! I used to watch him every know and then and every time I looked at him I thought it was CRAZY that this little 8 month old was walking!!! So I think what's "normal" is unique to each baby. Just be ready--if he is getting mobile that fast you will have your hands full!

Sounds like he is practicing his skills ~ some crawl at 6 months and some not til 9. Hunter is 8 months and no crawling yet. Some babies will do something then not do it again for a while like a fluke thing. Hunter roll twice at about 10 weeks but didnt roll again til 6 months (()) As he gets bigger and weighs more he may not do it again or he may be strong enough that he can, hard to say :) How cool though if he does :)

Hi from what I remember of my twin boys I think they say that they start crawling at about 6months, I remember that they used to roll and shuffle themselves around for quite a while before they started to crawl. The thing is every child is different and it all depends on whether they have the strenghth to hold their little heads up and normaly they do sit up unaided before they crawl to but that doesn't mean that your little one isn't doing it early boys do tend to be faster with their physical development. I guess if he continues to do it and gets stronger at it you no he is crawling otherwise it's probably just a one off or he is developing his rolling and shuffleing skills which I would say he is at the right age for. Hope this helps.xxx
