hi does any body know where i can buy ultra sound gel for a doppler other than on the web?

Cindie - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Call some local midwives or doctors offices in your area, they may be able to refer you to a place that sells it. Probably the Midwife office would be better.

mummychell - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you can buy them on ebay too

jaydsmom - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I use my doppler all the time. Have been hearing the heartbeat since 12 weeks every time I use it. Dopplers just bounce sound waves through the body. Perfectly harmless. I started with the Ultrasound gel, but water based lubricants work very well - as water is a great conductor. Sometimes its could be hard to hear the baby based on their position inside of you, because the waves need to be interrupted by the heartbeat of the baby. As the baby moves, you should hear that on the doppler too, as the movements also interrupt the sound waves produced by the doppler.

Debra - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Just an FYI but doppler's are very irritating to your baby. Every time we had our appointment, our son kicked the doppler and did some very fancy evasive maneuvering. It's also very difficult to hear a heartbeat unless you are trained in the field. I'm an RN and tried it once or twice at work with real conducting gel and a high powered doppler that we use for finding foot pulses in diabetic patients. After trying a couple times and never hearing anything and then getting kicked and indigestion from an unhappy baby, i decided that it wasn't worth upsetting him. I know how hard it is to wait those 9 months, but when you start feeling the movement on a more regular basis, you will start feeling more reassured. Please also stop by and read my VIP page- i have tips on pregnancy, labor, packing for hospital, breastfeeding etc that I put on there to help others feel better!

agonzales - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yup before finding some gel I used the ky jelly. Kind of sticky but it works. I couldnt find any gel anywhere so just ordered it on ebay.

Shan - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can use many other things that work just fine. Ky Jelly, Lotion, Baby Oil, etc. All work fine for me. :)
