I went to the apt today, and told him everything that was going on, along with the info he got from the hospital, he said everything I am feeling is working up to active labor. I asked if it will be much longer.. he only answered no:(.. 7 days of this and pain.. I cant even stand up straight.. anyone else been in early labor this long?? can this actually last for a month?? till im 42 weeks? he also told me not to go to the hospital until I have 3 contractions in 10 minutes. Thats different from everything else I have been told:S I am confused

What I've heard is that the contractions should be happening every 3 to 4 minutes for a full hour. My friend had been having contractions for a couple of weeks before she was finally taken in to be induced at 39 weeks. Good luck, and I hope you don't have to be in that much discomfort for that long!

I think you should go to the hospital when your contractions are really close.. maybe about 3-4 as the other comment said. But not everyones water breaks so I wouldnt just go by that. My sister had to have her water broke with two of her children so it may not break until baby is already coming out. Im sorry you have to go through all that pain this long. I dont think there is much you can do but to wait.

it should be that you don't go to the hospital until you've had 10 minutes of contractions that are every 3-4 minutes. Is it possible you didn't hear him correctly? Lord knows I had to bring my husband in to take notes as I had no concept of remembering anything at that time. I still don't :) Unless your water breaks, you don't need to go to the hospital. You will also just "know" when that happens. Its a change and all of a sudden I just knew. The contractions were stronger and more severe. Keep trying things to help spark active labor! Such as I suggested in one of your previous questions!
