My best friend got a tatoo for her 21st b-day on may 20 and she found out she is preggers just yesterday. she took a hpt and it was positive and now she is so worried something or the ink in her body might harm the development of her baby. I didn`t know what to tell her so any advise for her......

ksorrentino - 94 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Tell her not to worry...I got anew tattoo on Mothers day and found out I was pregnant on May 17th and everything is just fine:) Just tell her no more until the baby is born!

Baby3onWay - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) the ink will not harm her. They say not to get tattoos when your pregnant cause of the hormones your body produces naturally can interfere with pregnancy but I think its safe to say she will be fine and not to worry!

2b - 95 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was inked shortly after a miscarriage last year and the tattoo never healed correctly eventually needed to be cut out leaving me with a nasty scar on the inside of my right wrist. My doctor said that my body was healing after the miscarriage and the tattoo was not "the priority" so it just never healed correctly. It was my 5th one all done by the same guy who I trust and who has always done a fantastic job. I hope your friends tattoo heals before her body gets too busy making the baby...

Allioop - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The concern with tattoos would be infectious diseases like HIV, Hep B or C, etc. Most Dr's will test for Hep B and HIV during regular prenatal testing. The tattoo itself is not harmful so as long as it was done in a sterile environment she should be fine!

lizzie287 - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) As long as she hasn't had any signs of infection she should be fine. Just keep an eye on the tattoo and make sure it doesn't get infected, and obviously, don't get any more until after the baby is born ;)

UKMama - 96 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If it was a sterile procedure at a reputable place, there is no concern. The ink sits as a stain just under the skin. No ink is in her bloodstream. She has NO worries for the baby if the procedure itself was carried out according to all the health and safety regulations.
