I`m 37+4 weeks and the last few days i have been experiencing loose stools? It`s not to do with anything that i`ve ate so i`m wondering if it could be a sign of labour? I was woken the other night with quite painful contractions but they seem to of subsided, and i have had a little bit of mucus? What do you ladies think, could it be a sign that labour is approaching?

Debra - 89 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yes.

aulrobbri - 89 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sounds like labor to me ;-)

Baby3onWay - 89 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would say yes its a sign that you are preparing for labor as I had the same thing within a week or two of delievering my last two babies

kenty - 89 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it is definitely a sign that the body is preparing itself for labour! the loose stalls are the body's way of cleaning itself out before the birth(you will be greatful for this when you don't poop on the delivery table!) the mucus sounds like it's the mucus plug leaving your body. i wouldn't get too excited though as the 'show' can happen up to a few weeks before birth so you might yet have a long wait!
