Any advice how to calm my nerves anything I can do to prevent a miscarriage. Please help before I make myself crazy before I get out of my first trimester!

i would just try not to worry and to calm down. stress is not good on the baby. i dont think it would cause a miscarriage, but its not good. i suffered from an anxiety disorder prior to my pregnancy, but then the hormones and my changing body must have made it better. i did have one anxiety attack though in the first trimester, and i was very worried that i had caused harm to my baby by my body being under so much physical and emotional stress. after that, i always tried to relax and breathe when i got worried. now i am 22 weeks and have not had any other anxiety attacks.

hey sweet. i was exactly like you!! every little pain i had i would wonder if everything was ok, everytime i went to the loo i would hope i didnt see red, but im in my 29th week now!!! the first 12weeks is the hardest. no one can tell you to stop worrying cos ull only worry more.i think its something like 1 in 5 pregnancies end up in m/c BUT you are not gonna be that 1 person. you have to keep telling yourself that.
nothing will stop a m/c happening but you can help reduce your chances by cutting out caffene and alcahol, and if you smoke quit! then take it easy dont strain yourself, and all will be fine!!! i wish you a happy healthy pregnancy xx

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about a miscarriage if it is inevitable. Take heart that the chances are on your side. Most miscarriages are caused by a bad union (something wrong with the egg or sperm--they are lacking genetic information necessary to make a full person) and this is why age is an important factor in miscarriage--as we age so do our eggs and sperm!
Most women who suffer a miscarriage will go on to have a healthy pregnancy. And jaydsmom is right--stressing about it is NOT good! Stress produces a chemical called cortisol which actually CAN play a role in miscarriage (supposedly nature's way of to prevent adding a child to an already stressful situation) so stay calm and think positive!!!

There is no way to stop a miscarriage. You are young (under 35). The rate of miscarriage for you is much lower than us over 35's. Just try to relax. Stress is the worst thing for you now. Let nature takes its course. And if you do have a miscarriage, its not the end of the world - although yes it is sad and devestating. I had one 2 months before getting pregnant with this baby and now I am 24 weeks. Plus I'm 36 years old. Stay calm, enjoy your pregnancy, and stay positive!!

if you have a M/C there's nothing to prevent it. You need to take it easy, and just try to stay calm. Don't take any medicines, don't drink, and don't smoke and don't do anything hazardous to your health (horse riding... 4wheeling) etc... other than that, just take your prenatals and pray that things turn out ok. Many times if the baby is M/C it's because of chromosomal problems. Personally I find myself lucky because I'm pregnant w/a baby with 2 chromosomal problems. My rare skin problem EHK (form of Ichthyosis) and Down Syndrome, verified by an amnio.
I think that it's a miracle I never m/c him! I say enjoy your pregnancy while you can and just trust that you'll have a perfect child at the end.

Sometimes the Web can be our worst enemy, helping us to worry about things we otherwise never would have imagined. True, there are many miscarriages out there, and it's a horrible experience. But there is nothing you can do to prevent one if it is going to happen; throwing yourself into an emotional panic, however, *can* cause harm to your baby as your stress hormones will be bombarding your wee one and stressing it too. You're more likely to put your baby at risk by needlessly worrying than by taking a deep breath and living just in the moment. For now, your baby is fine, and you are fine. Just focus on that. Cross the miscarriage bridge if and when you get to it, but don't let it steal the joy of *this* moment from you right now. There's an old German saying my mother in law (who only occasionally makes sense, but when she does, she really does) uses: "Don't pay interest on a debt you haven't even run up yet." Remember that relaxing is the best thing you can do for your baby right now. Stop googling worst case scenarios!

all you have to do is take one day at a time. No one knows what the future holds but if you spend all this time worrying you wont enjoy the pregnancy for the special time it is. I agree with you that too much looking at the internet can make you worried and fretful. perhaps stay off it or only focus on good things. It is hard, but there really is no point worrying. You will not find peace in worrying. Also perhaps you could make yourself a few phrases that you can tell yourself when ever you feel those fears creeping back in, like 'all is well in my world' - do a search on pregnancy affirmations and see what comes up. good luck
