I`m 38 weeks pregnant and two weeks ago my doctor said my cervix is soft but closed. She didn`t check my cervix last week.Well, is it safe for me to have sex with my bd evening though i don`t know if my cervix have dilated?

boymom - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) for tons of women, they wouldn't be able to have do it at all if you couldn't if you were dialated! I spend the last 3 months dialated... don't worry, the baby is protected by that thick membrane that is holding the waters in :) Maybe it will get things started!

Debra - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) go ahead! and checking your cervix for dilation is not necessary anyways. it doesn't predict when you will go into labor as most women are dilated for several weeks before birth. And the checks are uncomfortable. My midwife never checked me until I was in labor.

Sex can help (induce labor) by releasing a hormone called oxytocin, which causes the uterus to contract. Additionally, semen contains a substance known as prostaglandins, which will help soften the cervix.
